The Oil Leak 1 The il Leak October 2016 Volume 53 Issue 10 President's Message WOW, what a time we’ve had since the September meeting. First and foremost is we have suc- cessfully hosted the 2016 60 th New England Meet. Participants came from all of the north eastern states. A full report will is elsewhere in this issue of the Oil Leak. Secondly, a few of the club mem- bers (Lindens, Erbs, Tallones, Callans, Marshall/Roberson, Stokinger/Johnson) enjoyed attending Model A Day at the MAFFI Model A Museum, located at the Gilmore Museum complex in Hickory Corner, Michigan. And finally we have been able to get out and enjoy our Model A’s on some fun tours and events this month. October is right around the corner and with it comes the time when we think about winding down our Model A activities. But not before we enjoy some more tours. It is also time for many of us to make our annual trek to Pennsylvania for the AACA Hershey Region Fall Flea Market and Show. This is the king of flea markets, something we have been enjoying for a long time. My first Hershey was in 1973 and I remember pushing the kids around in strollers when the fields were rocks and grass. The next major endeavor for the club is to come up with a slate of officers for the 2017 season. Finding volunteers always seems to be a chore, so please consider helping the club. The Nomi- nating Committee (JJ, Rich Batstone and Len Michalak) have been canvasing the membership for candidates and will present their recommendations at the October meeting. I should also mention that we have two dinner tours coming up in October. The first is the Colum- bus Day (October 10) Italian Dinner, which this year will be held at Carbone’s Restaurant in Hopkin- ton. The second is our Wayside Inn Dinner on October 27, a flyer in on page 9. This is always an nice evening out at one of the finest restaurants in the area. Look forward to seeing you there. Happy Model A’ing Doug Linden EDITOR NEEDED Still Plenty of time to volunteer
