Tranebjerg Church is conside-red to have the largest church tower in Denmark: 28 meters high, 12 x 10 meters wide. Møllebakken is situated in the area behind Flinch’s Hotel in Tra-nebjerg. There is a magnificent view of most of the south of the island from the view platform.

Mikkelstenen (memorial) right outside Langemark was erected in memory of Mikkel S. Holm, pio-neer of the farmers on the island.

Besser Church was built in the middle of the 13th century.

Samsø’s golf course, ranks number 14 in the top of courses in Denmark.

Besser Watchtower is located east of Besser village and is based on the remains of an old mill. Besser Rev is 5 kilometres and the largest overseas stone reef in Denmark. By the end of the reef there is an entrenchment from the wars against England. Onsbjerg Church. The gran-dest sight is a Roman gold crucifix. An inscription from 1596 tells

that the cross drifted ashore on a dead woman. Allegedly, a holy well sprang where the corpse drifted ashore – Ilse Mades Kilde (spring)

Dyret is the tallest point of south Samsø with its 51 metres.

Ilse Made Kilde in Vesterløk-ken is a spring with fresh water that springs in a hollow log dating back to the Bronze Age. The legend is written on the information board at the parking lot.

Kolby Mølle is an old Dutch mill built in 1859. In 1900, it was moved to Kolby. The mill stopped milling flour in 1947. Kolby Church. The most remarkable detail is found in the northern part of the choir arc, a staircase from the choir and opening to the aisle. It is probably a pulpit from Catholic times.

Vesborg Fyr (lighthouse) is located on the south tip of Samsø. The lighthouse was built in 1858 on the remains of the old fortress Visborg. The actual lighthouse is 19 metres, but the bank gives it a focus height of 36 metres.

Brattigsborg Gods. The estate was founded in 1677 and has been in the Danneskiold-Samsøe family ever since. During the summer it is possible to visit the park and go on guided tours.

Brattingsborg Forest invites you to wonderful walks.

Ørby Church is from 1904. The baptismal font is said to be from the Middle Ages. Kalkovnen in Ballen. A restored limekiln that burned coral lime from the 1880’s until 1936. It is located 100 metres south of the beach pathway.

Den gamle Købmandsgård (Merchant’s house) which was built in 1844 is probably the best preserved in the country. The Energy Academy is lo-cated just north of Ballen. Samsø is known around the world as a Rene-wable Energy Island. Lectures and showroom during the summer. You

can also take a walk on the Energy Path which consists of a number of energy installations where informa-tion about the different forms of energy can be found.

Kolhøj Mølle is a post mill in Brundby, which was built on the island Endelave in the 17th century and was moved to Samsø in 1817.
