Welcome to Term 3! I hope everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing break. As always at the start of the term, most of the children are very enthusiastic and glad to be back at school with their friends. It’s amazing what a break can do, the children do become very tired by the end of the term. It has been nice to be able to return to school with limited restrictions still in place. We can virtually return to the same arrangements that we had at the beginning of Term 2. Parents and carers are welcome to come into the school grounds however they must sign in using the government QR code. We have the code on all external gates and entrances to the buildings. We will maintain our morning procedures and ask that the children walk into their classroom between 8.45 am and 9.00 am each morning. SEMESTER 1 REPORTS The Semester 1 Reports and Assessment Portfolios will be sent home with the students today. When you are reading your child’s report please keep in mind: ➢ The Term 2 tasks are a snapshot of the assessment tasks that teachers use to determine the students Victorian Curriculum level other assessment undertaken throughout the semester is also used to determine the child’s overall level. ➢ The reports are for both parents and children. Take the time to sit with your child and read through the Assessment Portfolio and report. ➢ Ask your child to explain the expectations and outcomes of the various tasks. ➢ Celebrate with your child their achievements and discuss the areas for future learning. Parents who have children in Grades 1-6 will notice that there are two dots in each subject line. The hollow dots represent the child’s level of achievement 6 months ago and the solid dot shows their current level of achievement. If a child only has a solid dots that indicates they have not made any progress over the past 6 months. Could all families please ensure they return the portfolios on Friday July 23 rd . The portfolios will be used as a point of reference during the conferences. 3 WAY CONFERENCES Parents can now book an appointment for this semester’s 3 Way Conferences, which are on Thursday July 22 nd .
