On Monday morning bright and early, our Grade 6 students along with eight staff members headed off on the bus to Canberra. We wish them well on an adventurous and enjoyable time as they journey around Canberra and take in the sights mixed with educational and cultural experiences, some of these include: Government and Parliament house, Australian War Memorial, Mount Ainsley, Anzac Parade and other points of interest. They will arrive back at school some time Friday afternoon depending upon the traffic. Parents will receive updates from the teachers via Compass – please don’t contact the Office as they won’t have any information on the arrival time. In two weeks’ time the Grade 5 students will attend a three day camp beginning on Monday 15 March with a day exploring Sovereign Hill Pioneer Settlement and then heading to the Log Cabin Camp in Creswick, staying Monday and Tuesday night. While at the camp, students will be involved in numerous outdoor activities. Happy camping to our Grade 5 students! Congratulations to our swimming team who competed in and won the district swimming sports last Wednesday. A number of the students went on to the division finals on Monday. Thanks to Louise Petersen who organised the group and to the parents who provided transport and support. Regards, Mark Smith, Assistant Principal. Wednesday Weekly
