Welcome to our visiting Priest! Our parish community warmly welcomes Fr. Santiago Bernard Sha, a pr iest from the Diocese of Dindigul, India, but currently completing his licentiate in Sacred Scripture in Rome. Fr. Bernard will be helping our parish while Fr. Antony is gone on his vacation to India from May 26 to June 25. We wish Fr. Bernard a pleasant stay with us. ========================================= Change in Sunday Mass schedule

As with any equipment, our microphones, cords and music stands have had much use and are in desperate need of an update. Upon research, a total of $4,264.00 was reached for this need. We are asking all of you to prayerfully consider a donation to purchase these much needed necessities for our sound system. You can place your donation of any amount in the regular collection baskets – Please place in a separate envelope marked “for microphones.” Thank you in advance for your generous donations. Come join us for meditative prayer before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament every First Friday of the month, star ting after the 8:00 am Mass until 9:00 pm. We invite our parishioners to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament and pray for an increase in vocations and your own personal intentions.

Learn more about our Catholic Faith We invite you to learn what it means to be Catholic and to delve deeper into the Catholic Faith through the Adult Initiation Process (R.C.I.A). There will be a Gathering to welcome all who are interested in learning about the Catholic Faith on Sunday, June 14th from 10:30 – 11:30am in the Parish Center Fireside Room (upstair s from coffee and donuts). If you are interested in joining the Catholic Faith OR if you need to complete your sacraments of initiation – Confirmation & Eucharist, please come by to meet our team and to have your questions answered. ========================================= Join the RCIA Ministry Team Are you interested in sharing your faith? We are looking for volunteers to share their faith and walk with those enrolled in the RCIA program. The RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults – is for those who are interested in becoming Catholic or those wishing to complete their sacraments of initiation. The ministry team participates in sessions, dismissals, discussions, study of scripture, the tenets of our Catholic Faith, and fellowship. Is the Holy Spirit calling you to this ministry? Please call Rita Coffey in the Religious Education Office (562) 988-6855 for more information. Meetings start in mid-August.
Applications for new students and returning students are now available in the school office from 7:45am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. New siblings (enter ing school for their first time) of current St. Barnabas students must also pick-up an application. Lectors Meeting Have you ever thought…I would like to proclaim the word of God? There will be a Lector training and information session on Thursday, June 11, in the Parish Center, Fireside Room, at 7:00 pm. Please join us. Memorial Plaque Remember your deceased loved ones by ordering a 3” x 3/4” memorial plaque to be placed in our “In Memoriam” Prayer Room in our church. The requested donation is $50.00. Masses for our beloved departed whose names are inscribed on the memorial plaques are offered once a month in our parish church. For more information, please call the Parish Office at (562) 424-8595.
Thanks to the Money Counters! A group of people have volunteered to count the money regularly, dedicating 3 to 4 hours every time they count the Sunday collections. It is not an easy task to count them by hand. But they are committed to this task. We deeply appreciate their volunteerism and service to our parish community. THANK YOU!!!

ST. BARNABAS BOY SCOUTS: Our Scouts received their Ad Altare Dei medals at a ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on 5/17. This program helps Catholic Scouts develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community through a course of study based on the seven sacraments. The recipients were:
