The UMW October meeting was full of delicious smells coming from the kitchen. Many pints and quarts of vegetable soup were made and delivered. Thanks to those who also purchased soup. Thank you to Sharon Starling and Mary Loomis for breakfast and to everyone who helped make the soup. November 18 is our next UMW Meeting. It is the Thank Offering meeting so please remember to bring your thank offering. Maggie Conrad has devotions and Myrna Streb and Ethel Streb are the hostesses for the evening. While you are marking your calendars, please plan on coming to the church on December 2 at 6:00 p.m. We will be making candy and making any preparations for the Cookie Walk on December 6. It’s not too early to be thinking of making cookies (many kinds can be frozen). If you can donate at least 12 dozen cookies it would be appreciated. This is the UMW’s fund raiser for the following year’s events. The community looks forward to the Cookie Walk each year and it’s nice to have plenty of cookies and sell out the event.

Please watch for details in the bulletin about the Thanksgiving Dinner to be held November 16th after Sunday worship. The UMW plans this event for our church. Turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing and rolls are provided. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish. It’s always a festive time. There are lots of things to do before the end of the year. If you have the opportunity, please get involved with some of the activities that will be happening around the church during the holiday season. The UMW hopes everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. ~Jane Koontz UMW Vice President
