Occupied by WSFSSH February 27, 1997 T T HE HE WSFSSH M WSFSSH MISSION ISSION The mission of WSFSSH is to provide safe, affordable housing with supportive services within a residential setting which enhances the independence and dignity of each person. Since 1976, WSFSSH has been developing a spectrum of low income housing units. Today WSFSSH is responsible for over 1,240 units, serving over 1,500 persons, with over 150 units in development. WSFSSH was formed in 1976 by a coalition of social service agencies, reli- gious institutions, and community organizations to create new housing to meet the diverse needs of older people and persons living with handicaps. In 1983 WSFSSH expanded its mission to include the provision of housing and supportive services to homeless adults. WSFSSH purchases, builds, renovates, and manages housing. Areas of particular concern include: Frail elderly individuals Homeless individuals Single older persons Persons living with physically handicap- ping conditions Older persons living with serious mental illness Persons living with AIDS Each of our buildings provides social services designed to assist residents /tenants to live safely and fully in the community.
