The healthcare sector used to be technology driven.Its tools were used and understood by experts only.


New technologies allow patients to become experts of their own health. Therefore it is necessary for the patients to be able to understand and evaluate their personal medical data.


From expert devices to new service tools for patients.



As medical devices are used in a different kind of way and in new and different contexts, the devices have to be designed differently to answer the needs of their new

user groups.



But how to answer the needs of the new user group?

Most patients do not want to be confronted with their disease.

Most patients share their symtoms with a selected number of people only.

They do not want to worry their relatives.

Service should not focus on the patient‘s disease only,

but support the patient in feeling good.

Doctors were often of the opinion thatapps did not look trustworthy.


Expert engagement important for validity


Data visualization is not the only goal.It’s about patient empowerment.
