The largest collection of materials on this topic in the country along with the British library. If you want to use this library you will need a letter of introduction from me – please ask me. The same is true of the Institute of Historical Research in the north wing of Senate House ( www.history.ac.uk ). For religious and theological literature, the library at Heythrop College in Kensington is also useful (for further information about the Library see www.heythrop.ac.uk/Library.html ). The bibliography is mostly confined to works in English. For those of you who read French or German I have added some key works. How to research your topic In contrast to the classes, where all the materials are chosen and supplied for you, the coursework is designed to get you used to working with a full research bibliography. How to find books and articles in the QM library
A reminder that the books you are looking for may not all appear if you use the simpleKeyword search that appears by default on the QM Library page. Many students have beencaught by this, and complain that works are not in the library when in fact they are. Forbest results, use the Classic Catalogue and the Advanced Search option, and then fill in thesurname of the author and the first couple of words of the title (excluding 'a' and 'the').The same is true of Senate House.
Many of the journals that appear in this bibliography are available electronically throughJSTOR or elsewhere. For the rest, you should get used to exploring the periodicals shelvesof the QM Library (for articles since 2000), and to ordering older volumes from the stacks.
