BEACHBOOMBA
On August 17, Divisions 41 North and South came together for the long held tradition of Beach Boomba. Originally a beach cleanup event, the 41 LTGs, Sean Cai and Joseph Olmo, decided to return to their roots and focus on the cleanup aspect of the event. For an hour and a half, the two divisions scoured the beach side by side for any pieces of miscellaneous trash that had been littered on the beach’s sands. Exhausted, I and mymy fellow froggies retreated to the shade and socialized with our new friends from 41 South. As afternoon transitioned to night, 41 North and South engaged in various games, including a game made up by the 41 LTGs, called “The Lion and the Frog”, which involved hanging powdered donuts from a string and a person dangling the said string above someone they were piggybacking on, who would then try to eat the donut. This activity brought the two divisions together, as each froggie was paired with one lion. All in all, I felt that this service event and social was very fun and I definitely feel inspired to work with 41 South in the coming year of Key Club.

Thanks for reading the VERY first issue of the Hop (named by lovely LTG Sean Cai), the official newsletter of Division 41 North. As you may have realized, a single article depicts the essence of, well, a pretty lame newsletter, correct? Well then, let’s get workin’ on those articles and sending them in, shall we? You can send in your articles to Sean Cai at [email protected]. Also, send in any photos that go along with your articles. Don‘t worry, your articles don’t have to be A-grade worthy! We will look over them and make any necessary edits; you’ll sound like a serious journalist. Easily.
