In January 2006, Aflac began accepting nominations for the Hispanic Achievement Award for Business Entrepreneurship for 2006. Aflac, a leading provider of insurance sold on a voluntary basis at the worksite in the United States, and Hispanic magazine, a premier publication for Hispanic Americans, partner to host the Hispanic Achievement Award (HAA). Aflac has sponsored the Business Entrepreneur category of the award for the last 13 years. This award will recognize a successful Hispanic entrepreneur in the United States for his or her professional merits, contributions, and dedication to the development of his or her employees, community, and business in general. We are seeking to nominate outstanding business owners who have worked diligently while demonstrating leadership, empowerment within their communities, and excellence in all their efforts. Anyone can nominate a business owner to be considered for the award. When nominating a candidate for this prestigious honor, please submit personal or business information that outlines his or her path to success. Also provide details about the nominee’s involvement in the community, past awards or recognitions, magazine articles, and any testimonials from customers, colleagues, or organizations that lend to the character and success of this person. There is no minimum or maximum amount of information required. The nominee doesn’t have to be part of an Aflac payroll account or belong to a particular industry. Your nominee may serve as a role model to other Hispanics and may be profiled by Aflac and Hispanic magazine, if selected. The winner of the HAA for the Business Entrepreneur category and a guest will be invited to the awards ceremony along with the nominating individual and a guest. The ceremony will be held on August 24, 2006, atop Nob Hill at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
