God’s blessings to you and your loved ones this Christmas! We celebrate a fact that is unimaginable to all other faiths: that God himself took on human flesh and became one of us, to show his immense love for us and to offer us his gift of salvation. For all who are visiting from out of town, we welcome you to Transfiguration, and we hope that you have a wonderful visit in our area. And if you live in the area and are visiting our parish for the first time, we hope that you can become part of our parish family! If it has been a while since you have been to church, we would like to welcome you home! We hope that this can be an opportunity for you to renew your relationship with Jesus and his Church. We are here to help each other in our walk as intentional disciples of Jesus. Looking Back on 2015: Discovering Christ: About 100 people participated in a
small group, getting to know each other and growing in
their personal relationship with Jesus.
Successful Lenten Blitz: We reached our goal, sharing
about our parish and our faith with over 15,000 homes in
our area!
Record-Breaking Fish Fry: We had our best-attended fish
fry, growing each week for a record 334 meals served on
our final evening!
Called & Gifted: We hosted a “Called & Gifted” work-
shop for our parishioners and those in our area, helping
people to discern the spiritual charisms God has given
them.
Building Expansion: We worked with a Catholic archi-
tecture firm to develop a long-term Master Plan for our
campus, and received the green light from the diocese to
begin preparations for the first phase.
Parish Tithe: We invested $16,500 to share our faith
through evangelization efforts and donated $23,500 to
serve those in need in our area, including special outreach
to help local victims of the flood.
Rectory Dinners: About 60 new parishioners joined
Father for one of the dinners at his house this summer, to
get to know him and each other.
A First: Bishop Guglielmone appointed Father Andrew as
our first Pastor, with the installation ceremony and party
last month.
Additions: We have added over thirty families, growing
from about 360 to 392 registered families.

Mass Schedule for the Christmas Octave
Hanging of the
Greens
Are you available to help
enhance the church environ-
ment for the Christmas
season? Nicole Lofurno, head
of our Environment and Art
ministry, would dearly
appreciate some assistance on Wednesday,
December 23, starting at 9:30 a.m. You
can contact Nicole at (803) 422-0927 or just
plan to meet at the PLC at that time.
A warm welcome is extended to everyone
worshipping with us here for the first time.
We invite you to take one of the welcome
folders in our gathering space for an
introduction to our parish family. Please let
us know any way that we can help you.
If you attend Transfiguration on a regular
basis and consider this your parish, please fill
out the registration form in the welcome
folder or contact the church office at 735-0512
to receive one.
Registration is important because it tells us
that you consider Transfiguration to be your
parish and it enables us to serve you better.
Welcome!
Hospitality through parking?
Let’s show our famous Transfiguration hospitality
this Christmas! There are about thirty parking
spots which were created in the grass next to the
church office, just a stone’s throw from church. If
we “regulars” could please use that area, it would
ease the congestion for visitors in our main park-
ing lot, especially on Christmas Eve. (From N.
Pines Road, follow our white fence around onto
Wilson Blvd, turning left where the fence ends.)
Please note that the Parish Office will be CLOSED
Thursday, December 24 and Friday,
December 25.
Stand up for Life March and Rally
Please join us for the annual SC Stand up for Life March and Rally on January 9, 2016 in Columbia. March begins at 11:30 AM at the USC Russell House and finishes at the State House Plaza with the rally at 12 PM. This year’s featured speakers are Alan and Lisa Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty. For more information: SCLife.org
Knight’s Korner
The Knights of Columbus have given
over $3,000,000 to Christian Refugee
Relief Fund for persecuted Christians in
the Middle East. We are supporting this cause through
the sale of beautiful 5-inch olive wood crosses made in
the Holy Land. Through the generosity of members of
the Transfiguration Council, all the monies collected
will be sent to persecuted Christians in the Middle
East. Please consider supporting this effort. Stop by the
Knight’s table after mass and purchase a cross for $10.
Save the Date!
Saturday, January 23

your Transfiguration family, friends, and neighbors
sharing your knowledge on a variety of topics. More
