This level of commitment and effort is appreciated immeasurably and the benefits of the work will go directly to the children of Forestville. What a great network is being created by our fantastic Forestville P&C and parent community and what lucky recipients of this hard work are the students and teachers in the school. With sincere thanks. NAPLAN Our Years 3 and 5 students participated in the NAPLAN Writing and Reading tests last week and will be completing Langauage Conventions and Numeracy this week. Our students are completing the online tests for the first time and we have been very proud of their response and attitude. The tests have been administered with very few minor issues and I would like to thank all parents for ensuring their children are relaxed and are at school promptly for the tests to be administered.

are the students and teachers in the school. With sincere thanks.

We raised over $4,500 on Saturday at the Federal Election Cake Stall, BBQ and Raffle! An
amazing result and funds will go directly to help fund the new K-2 iPads.
Thank you to everyone that baked. Such amazing cooking skills! One lady travelled
especially to our polling station as she knew the cakes were always so good!

Humphries and Jo McLaren. Thank you to the Year 2 parents that helped with preparations
and on the day! A special mention to Padraig Hurley, Kate Yonge, Lisa Tantillo, the Farrant
family, the Kruhak family, the Brennan family and the Pearce family, who put in extra hours.

Lachie D is a Year 6 student at Forestville Public School and on Friday 31 May he will be
cutting his hair off in front of Year 6 in aid of the World's Greatest Shave. Lachie has been
growing his hair for three years! He will also be donating his long locks to Variety Hair with
Heart and it will be made into a wig for someone who has a long term medical condition. A
message from Lachie "I'm excited to be cutting off my hair and knowing that it will go tosomeone that needs it. And the money that I will raise will support people with blood cancerand hopefully find a cure."Lachie has a goal of raising over $2500 to help beat blood cancer.
He would love you to support him. You can sponsor him here -
Next Friday 31 May, all students in Years 3-6 will be involved in either School Sport or PSSA
trials. If these trials are cancelled due to rain or other reasons, the trials may be held on
another day on or before 6 June.
If your child wishes to try out for a competition PSSA team they will be walking to Melwood
Oval for the trials and they must return their permission note by this Thursday.
The PSSA teams for Term 2/3 are:
•Junior Soccer (Years 4 and 5)- Miss McAllister
•Senior Soccer (Years 5 and 6)- Miss McAllister
•Junior A and B AFL (Years 3 and 4)- Mr Williamson
•Senior A and B AFL (Years 5 and 6)- Mrs Mackenzie
•Junior A and B Netball (Years 4 and 5)- Mrs Phegan (boys can try out for netball)
•Senior A and B Netball (Years 5 and 6)- Miss Amery (boys can try out for netball)
Because of constraints on venues and resources only a limited number of students will be
selected for teams. Whilst we encourage all students to trial, they should be aware that not
every student will make a team.
