FEAR OF MUTINy FOR MISSINg SCIENTISTSIt’s been 3 weeks since the Theodocia Sny-

der expedition party was last heard from and fears are growing for the scientists safety day to day. Search parties will soon be dis-patched to the Lisimba region where they were last heard from.

—Fellow scientist, Vincent Fugue, who re-ceived the last letter from Dr. Snyder told re-porters this morning that the contents of the letter were about an exciting discovery that

she hoped would bring huge advances in their research. Theodocia Snyder and crew are known for their journeys into wild and previ-ously undiscovered Islands to find exotic plant life to aid in their many commercial products such as their most famous: Ligera Formula, a miracle stain remover. But as most in the Sci-entific world can attest, incredible discoveries can often times lead to jealousy.—‘Each one of the 12 Scientists that accom-panied Dr. Theodocia Snyder was a trusted and respected colleague,’ Vincent Fugue told reporters, ‘ I know them personally and any idea of mutiny is off the table— it simply is not a possibility.’—Other experts standing outside the fray are more uneasy; knowing all too well what the wilds of a region like Lisimba can do to a tired, hungry and exhausted mind, ‘Add to that, a discovery—an astonishing discovery like the one Doctress Snyder revealed they had made— I think it’s very possible if not probable that someone has taken control of the expedition party and if so, it’s a very dan-gerous situation. Especially knowing the his-

tory of Lisimba,’ said expert, Preston Kirby.—The Lisimba region is a notoriously dan-gerous place to explore with its tangled mess of wild Isles and exotic life forms. First dis-covered 200 years ago by Ethelbert Epley and Crew where their famous tales still haunt many of our hearts. Mutiny, Madness and Hunger were just some of the maladies they struggled with. After 5 survivors were finally able to escape the island, they told horrid tales of being held prisoner by one of their own crew who had risen up to take control, not allowing anyone to leave the Island. 3 years passed before the 5 prisoners made it back to tell their tale through their historical biography, ‘Living in our Grave’. The other prisoners weren’t as lucky and to this day that island has never been located. —But the Isles of Lisimba still offer their irre-sistible appeal to Scientists who know of the unique plant life and their magic properties, ‘it’s an allure they just cannot resist,’ finished Kirby.

Mordacais Jones cut a prim and morose figure on Friday as she awaited the fi-

nal sentencing for selling Imaginary Friends on the Black market to work camps last Sum-mer in the guise of sending them away on the Orphan Trains on behalf of the Foundling Hospital where she was employed, Perpetual Hope. After the case was cracked wide open, Mordacais Jones quickly fled and was later recovered trying to board the Diltz Express in Sangamon Forest. She has maintained her innocence and surprisingly, 2 imaginary friends came to her rescue to plead their side of the story before Judge Colthorp and the jury who remained emotionless in front of the seemingly adorable and innocent Imaginary Friends that swore the Goodwill of Miss Jones and cited numerous small acts of kindness. It weaved a touching tale that hovered warmly in the cramped courtroom. —The spell was soon broken however, when the 2 were promptly cross- examined by pros-ecutor, Rocie Cline and openly asked about their motives and small, embarrassing facts were placed before them. After hours of gru-elling cross examination it became clear to the judge and jury that the witnesses were

in fact, Mordacais’s own personal Imaginary Friends. The judge threw out the defense’s testimony and the jury was asked to ignore what was said as their testimony was obvi-ously coerced.—In the end, The Jury took only an hour to deliberate and returned with the verdict of ‘Guilty’ which carried with it the maximum penalty of life behind bars without the pos-sibility of Imaginary Friends.

No matter who and no matter what they do to try to avoid it, death comes in his

mysterious long, black cloaks without a sound and escorts a member of the Hepsy family from this world to the next. Nothing to be done and little to say except for that ‘the Anniversary Syndrome’ has baffled doc-tors and spiritual experts alike. A Hepsy will simply expire every 9 years so it has been for over a century.—Confusion clouds the research of historians that have sought to uncover the truth about the noble Chariton family that was first docu-mented over 150 years ago. —Fayette & Fanny Hepsy set up a modest house near the Hacha River mostly keeping to themselves and their 7 children. It wasn’t until daughter, Orolia Hepsy took charge of their small farm did the Hepsy’s ever garner news attention. Under the orders of her ap-parently very green thumbs their farm started to flourish producing fruit and vegetables in great abundance and of sizes which aston-ished folks. Heads of Broccolis as large as baskets, pest free potatoes which tasted bet-ter than any others and an apple orchard full of shiny, red ever-ripened apples which soon became the talk of neighboring town Chari-ton. They marveled at her gardens that were spared the wrath of pesky moles, slugs and hedgehogs that were known for carrying off great quantities from other nearby gardens. Rumors varied but the general consensus was that she had created a secret vegetable patch for the hungry animals so that her own gardens were left alone to grow to their enor-mous sizes. Whatever the reason, the farms soon made the Hepsy’s rich, far richer than they had ever hoped. Their names were of-ten tied to high society events and they were documented numerous times in giving back to the community. But then there was a turn of events and it is here where historians tend to disagree. It is known, Orolia Hepsy married stranger, Preston Condit of Dauphin Wood and their marriage was said to have been a stormy one. In fact, she was rarely seen with

Preston and only 1 family portrait exists. She mothered 2 sons, Signey and Paddy Hepsy, who suffered from dwarfism which only en-deared him more to his mother. Orolia was seldom seen without Paddy nearby. How this attachment affected the older brother, Signey or even the husband is the subject of much speculation but all agree it is about 5 years af-

ter the children were born when the first odd death struck. Orolia’s mother passed away in her sleep with a convulsed look of terror upon her face. Many believe this was the cycle’s beginning. ‘It’s merely a destructive psychological in-heritance, ..a... a.. burden from being born of a wealthy family and a wealth based on

the hunger of the poor—’ argues philosopher, Jeptha Bushart, ‘while pushing against our parents life story maps, we’re, in fact, adopt-ing them as our own.’ —And in that school of thought they’re are many followers, ‘Yes, the hubris of a family name carries a burden of Fate and the carrying of family secrets. Why was her particular garden so successful? Why the vegetables so large? It’s clearly the Curse of Orolia.’ Bushart concluded. —Then there are many that have acknowl-edged through extraordinary proof the repeti-tion of critical events in a family tree down to exact times and dates; as insects may emerge from the ground every 7 years so too, do the loopholes of time wreak their wrath upon families.’—Cynics, on the other hand, are quick to point out who really profits from these stories: the Hepsy Family. Keeping their name in the news because of a mysterious curse is actually lucrative business. Would they go as far as to sacrificing one their own? Perhaps. But there is no evidence and the Hepsy family is known for their Secrecy. —Almost everyone can agree that sometimes extraordinary talents can be curses reversed and the Hepsy’s certainly have their fair share of extraordinary talents.

the Hepsy Family Legacy Passing of Serelda Hepsy Raises Questions Again

It seems Judge Lacusta of Bayonne will not be throwing out the Concordia Sinking

Case on lack of evidence as new vital clues have recently been recovered near the scene of the crime.—‘We’ve got the smoking gun,’ said a glee-ful Sgt. Huey, ‘a wrench has been uncovered which we’re pretty sure was used to jam the rudder of the Concordia. Already the wrench has been processed and linked to a manufacturer in the Nolans— this particular wrench specializes in underwater ovens and is not made above land. Not only that, we’re pretty sure we can link the object to one of the charged.’ —

—Last spring, Bayonne was shook by the sink-ing of the massive passenger ship just right off its coast. Then news quickly spread about the teenage mermaidens that were placed near the scene and subsequently brought in for questioning and later arrests were made against: Mahala Ward, Genevieve Reed, Lo-vinia & Chriltianna Tharp & Katie Bodor. Sarah Knisely was released in April of last year. —Last month, police scrambled to collect evidence before the Big Freeze and before Judge Lacusta threatened to the throw out the entire trial on lack of evidence and for fear of wasting Time and Resources. —‘Good thing she did that, too,’ continued Huey, ‘it really made us move and have extra sharp eyes. We found other things we over-looked. We found the wrench wedged in be-tween rocks. The sun hit it and it sparkled— we’ve got a case.’

March 9

They say you should never sail alone, that’s why I brought a small crew of Ship

Rats along with me. They keep me fed and warn of upcoming weather— really a decent crew and even more handy than I had first thought. The captain of the 30 rats is Lofton Paki, a likeable fellow who keeps to himself but I can see by the glint in his eye that he’s proud I chose him to lead. And the reason for choosing him is a simple one: he understands to read the messages in the clouds. A certain day will come and you can feel it shifting in the air, twice it’s already occurred. The long fingers will form with a fiery sunset behind them and cause us to suddenly shift course entirely and Cap’tain Paki does so without blinking an eye.

Days of rocking on the sea and eating the cooks gruel which is colorless and too sweet. The rats wolf it down hungrily, gruel sticking to their whiskers; sugar recharges them.

March 10

It is curious to observe the life below the watery surface of the Nolans. It is not

something I am familiar with. Merfolk are plentiful but not friendly; non-responsive when little bits of food are sprinkled down upon them. They swim fast by— hardly look-ing up. Their lightning speed tails flick the surface and the sun reflects a prism of colors up at us. Not a single ‘hello’ — no small talk, nothing. Strange for me, being a Lamplighter for more than 30 years, I chatted with all life forms and felt pretty experienced and knowl-edgeable but here, at the mercy of the open sea, I realize I’m like an infant. The ship rats don’t talk, they work, but I sense land is com-ing soon. I hope it will relieve me from this strange, alive thing called Water—....there is also something else swimming— with a strong, scaly backbone and dark, oily

flesh. It may be hundreds of feet long. I don’t know what it is but I feel it is following us.March 11I’ve seen a flock of birds and found myself breathing a sigh of relief. Land will be here soon. I’ll send off these journals and get a warm meal with vegetables and perhaps a bit of cake. I know now that if the fingers were to appear and point us in the opposite direction and lead us away from land I would defy them. I need solid ground. Moist earth. Spring flowers.March 13We landed! ahh, the smell of sun warmed dirt. Never thought about it before. A strange sort of ground, spongy like. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been at Sea? Doesn’t seem to affect the rats that scurry and are always busy. Tomor-row, we explore the other side. March 14 Wouldn’t you know! On the other side, a tiny town near the shore but hidden in the tree tops. Much too small for me to explore but Lofton easily scurried up into the branches and later brought me down the most scrump-

tious little cake that only made my appetite howl more. Seeing this Lofton scrambled up for more. I quickly told him to stay awhile and chat with the natives, not to mind me! He’s so polite. Came down with 4 little bags full of the pastries the likes of which I’ve never tast-ed! There were little chocolate cream ones but with some strange berry...I hope it wasn’t poisonous. We later went back to the other shore and decided to stay one more night. I slept deeply with the delicious, intriguing cakes on my mind...March 15Woke up to something gnawing at my feet and it wasn’t long before I saw Longfellow tugging frantically at my socks and I realized that I was sinking into the earth! It was en-folding me like I slept on a sponge. Pulling myself out was a feat but the others, bless ‘em, helped me. If Longfellow hadn’t have seen me I don’t know what would have hap-pened! It’s time to leave. I am too heavy for this island. Paki said he’d mail my journals in the village.

Popular Attican Lamplighter, Bertus Pinch leaves his home behind and

sets out on the high seas, led only by the strange formations in the clouds that

show him the way...

Some gossip

The icicles have melted and dripped into dewy puddles quickly absorbed by fresh-

ly budding Life and while Life gets on with all its growing, we here at the Filigree have our hands full with double - checking story sources, deadlines and of course our readers letters that are full of Confusion, Wonder-ment and Curiosity. I’ve got a few of my fa-vorites right here for you...

Confessions of a Fairy Bandit’, story ap-peared Winter ‘09 page 2 news. Story

of ‘bad girl makes right, yearns to tell-all’ and we just happened to be the lucky source for all her Heart - Pourings... Many said we ex-ploited a young, innocent Fairy! Seemingly, forgetting that this ‘innocent’ was previously embroiled in the Barbu Jewel Heist and is currently serving time for her involvement. She had no problems being as honest about the entire ordeal! To call someone innocent just because they have a pair of shimmering wings doesn’t make us exploiters it makes the writers of these letters: naive!

Readers with missing teeth everywhere came climbing out of the wood works

when the story of Arlie Lippett & Toothless Timmy hit the newsstands, also in Winter ‘09 page 5 news. ‘Maybe he stole one of my teeth!’ And, ‘I’ve been wondering where all my teeth have gone— it was Toothless Timmy using ‘em to gamble!’ and children wanting to know if either Arlie Lippett or Toothless Timmy were in fact, the real Tooth Fairy? Well, on behalf of both these individuals the Filigree would like to clarify that all the teeth in Mr. Lippett’s possession were got through honest means and are a collection that he has been adding to for over 40 yrs. as for Tooth-less Timmy he is certainly not the real Tooth Fairy and whether his tooth collection is truly real or merely phantasmagorical is unclear but chances are they were also got through honest ways as specters aren’t aloud to steal only move things around. Hope this helps!

What a flurry of Excitement did the Win-ter’s Dreamers’ article bring! Featured

in the Winter ‘09 paper, it brought up several controversial discussions & stereotypes that still linger between Insecta & Mammalia. One quote going so far as to say that Mam-mals were content with just ‘having fun’ and with ‘curling up & giggling’ and ‘waste away entire days’. Naturally and with good reason, the Mammal Protection Society shot back with several other contradictory points such as: ‘Entire civilizations were created & flour-ished by Mammals alone without the slightest help from Insects & thanks in most part to Mammals, Insects live Rent Free hardly ever

introducing themselves to the many Mammals that work, yes Work to make their homes cozy & Warm!’ It is most exciting to wait and see what Insecta has to say about this!

Mt. Sinkhorn brought many a fond letter and a flood of reminisces to our Head

Quarters. Older readers were quick to share their memories of the sleighs of Amonlia Sinkhorn and how pretty and kind she was! One reader wrote:

‘Once, visiting the majestic mountain of Sink-horn with my parents, I spied a beautiful girl in the barn polishing up a sled and I’ll never forget how that warm barn looked through the curtain of falling snow. Just then, she looked up to me and waved and before I knew it she also came running up and said hello! I remember thinking she must’ve been cold for she didn’t wear a coat. She invited us to come look at her sleigh and it was the most amaz-ing thing I had ever seen. Amonlia inspired me to make things and I have been making toys for over 120 years in Cherry Hill.’‘Sleigh Rides at Mt. Sinkhorn’ story pg. 6 Winter ‘09

We still hear from creatures far and wide about the ‘Sea Skeletons & Watery

Waltzes’ story that was featured in Autumn page 5 news. Did the Concordia passengers show up? And if so, what did they wear? What really happened? The Filigree only has this to say: ‘If we told you all that then we wouldn’t have a great story for next Autumn, now would we!’

A few letters from local giants poured through our mail slots asking why did

we think it acceptable journalism to write about newcomer Girl wonder, 14 year old Zlata Frost throwing around innocent gi-ants to prove her strength? Why didn’t this wonder find weights an acceptable approach to revealing ones muscles? Our response is simple and is the same of any other, ‘Stop taking yourselves so Seriously!’

On a softer note: There have been numer-able, perhaps too many to mention re-

sponses to the Obituary Poets and we would like to take a few of the most important, as to clear up any misunderstandings that would inadvertently cause a spirit to linger longer than necessary.Winnie Torok: Your mother knows your skates were so pretty that you had to try one more time. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine! Maude Winfield: Your family understands this and we know that, so sleep in Peace—eventually, we’ll see where you’re at!Julia Schellen: So sorry to disturb your Peace— with my cries of return to me, Please! What’d you expect after all of this? That I’d be fine with you leaving me for Unearthly Bliss? I’m not! Happy Rotting...

Dear Reader, If there was something you particularly liked or did not like, tell us! We will most certainly try to respond. Happy Spring!Your Editor-in-Chief, Celena Cavala607 S. Main St.

Winter Wonderland Winner! As promised, the Filigree would like to

congratulate this years winner of the Winter Wonderland Cake Designer of the Year award, Agnes Butalo! Mrs. Butalo’s creation, ‘Winter Secret’ shocked and awwed guests and judges alike with her ice skaters that skated across a frozen pond with a sug-ared drowner entangled in water lilies beneath its glassy surface. The amazing pond was framed in white frosting roses and instantly got spectators to whisper and gasp upon seeing it. Not only was the 3 tiered cake impeccably designed it was also flawlessly created and has definitely thrust Agnes Butalo into the world of cake designing as a force to be reckoned with. Good luck Agnes Butalo with your many future endeavors!

Excited townsfolk waited hours to see the Enchanting Liadanar Dragon

Many argue that there was simply no way to tell. No way to know! That the

exact weekend the pro Ballooners would be whizzing through Pindly and making use of the fresh spring winds on their way to Quinby the 17 yr. Liadanar Dragon would suddenly emerge from its deep sleep and make its pil-grimage to Sangamon Forest. But they did and an Emergency grounding was issued for all Ballooners who hurriedly decided to descend upon the nearby town of Watonga, adding extra excitement to the already jittery town. —Welcome flags and Great Signs had already been placed around the town square to greet the massive flock of dragons which was pre-dicted to be an enormous swarm somewhere in the hundreds. Local schools immediately joined forces to create a salutation with colored cards the children would hold that would form a giant smiley face when looked at from above. So excited was the town that they hardly noticed the exhausted Ballooners that were accustomed to being the ones that were usually given a royal treatment and who were in dire need of Hospitality. —‘No one was there to greet us!’ sighed Galvin Howatt who went on to say that children and fans often came out to see the giant balloons land but that he understood perfectly and was himself, dying to see the flock of Dragons.—

Many of the other tired Ballooners be-moaned themselves about their predicament. ‘Wasn’t there some way of knowing?’ and ‘why weren’t event planners even slightly aware?’ but the committee quickly fired back that there’s never any rhyme or reason to when a hibernator decides to wake up and we just have to make the most of it. So the ballooners did. They settled down and start-ed to get excited along with the rest of the

town to see the legendary Liadanar Dragon. —In fact, many in the town had never wit-nessed the Liadanar before as there is no way of predicting which path they’ll take and when. A secretive group of dragons known for their peculiar markings and long manes of black hair, the Liadanar sleep for 17 yrs. before making their way to their dragon re-union in Sangamon where they hope to find a bride and make a home for 3 yrs. and then they return back to bed and sleep for another 17 years!—Proud town dragons were especially up-beat and spoke openly about how many of them were directly descended from the mag-nificent beasts. One chuckled that though his wing span couldn’t produce the same enor-mous flaps or speed one could clearly detect the Liadanar blood in his flying technique. —But was there an estimated time of arrival? And, what if it was too dark to see? What if they skipped their town? A quiet anxiety had begun to cloud the anxious faces that sur-rounded the great square on that Saturday.—It wasn’t long before a dark cloud suddenly blotted out the red, sinking sun and people started pointing and all could hear the thun-derous echoes of flaps like a deep bass in the distance. All watched mesmerized as the dark cloud grew closer and shoots of ribbony fire erupted like tiny explosions, far away at first but growing ever closer. Children’s eyes were wide and the band that was supposed to supposed to play a welcome jig was frozen with their mouths open. Animals, once mind-ing their own business were transfixed at the awesome scene that unfolded, growing ever larger, above. —And at once, they were above the town; long, sleek dragons a metallic blue and purple like the tail of the sphinx lizard. Streams of fire shot out from all sides; their way of say-ing hello and the town suddenly was waving and yellowing their hellos! in return. High pitched squeals and soaring flaps that caused enormous gusts of wind and in an incredible moment— it was over and all were stunned. —The Ballooners hope to resume their jour-ney first thing tomorrow morning and hope to generate just a bit of the same excitement the Dragons did.

Fans of the Chabra Falls Annual Spring Tightroping Event will have to make due

with the stunning memories of last year as the Andover Tightrope Society has made the shocking decision to cancel the much antici-pated event.—‘Lots of things came into play here, ‘ Presi-dent, Manuel Brashear explained on Thurs-day, ‘there are historically low water levels, which frankly, freaked people out. Scientists have a few theories about the reasons for this the main one being the Moultrian caves are taking the water into a new cave opening. Currently, the caves are looking into this pos-sibility. The water is draining, that’s all we know. Until we find out the precise reasons, no one wants to walk across a great, empty chasm.’ —But Cromora Nicholson long time Crowd favorite and Crown Winner says an empty chasm makes no difference to her in the

slightest, ‘I have to defend my crown and I had some spectacular tricks up my sleeve this year that I wanted to share with fans!’—Last year Cromora Nicholson stunned her many fans when she walked across the tight-rope in record speed while flipping a pancake in one hand with a hot griddle and in the other she held an umbrella that matched her peach and polka dot boys suit perfectly. If that wasn’t enough, she sat down on the tiny tight-rope after reaching the middle and enjoyed the pancake while waving to fans all in time to win the race for the quickest! Cromora has been known for her many strange stunts on the tightrope like bicycling, cart wheeling, walking en pointe like a ballerina and once even lit firecrackers above her and walked un-der a rain pour of fiery sparks and shooting stars much to the delight of the audience. —But for most, the reality of dry waterfalls and some bird squawking high in the sky

while a scared tightroper walks allowing the crowd to hear every squeak and rattle of the rope which previously had been undetectable with the thunder of the falls, is an idea that doesn’t appeal to many.—‘No thanks! I’ll pass.’ said Clower Briney, ‘Who can’t wait another year?’—The president of the society agrees, ‘of course it would be ludicrous. Not to men-tion if someone were to fall, as often is the case, we’d see all the gruesome details. But of course, those aren’t the only reasons that caused us to come to this Conclusion.’—Strange talk swirls. Superstition sneaks like shadows through the woods and near the Falls.—‘A group of birds started circling the Falls. First slowly and then faster, right above the water,’ said Valentine Slack, longtime neigh-bor to the Falls, ‘and wouldn’t you know, soon after the water started disappearing even

though we’ve had all this rain, Something strange, I tell ya. Then the water started turning greener-like. Silvery objects were washed up on the shore. They’d catch my eye, sparkling in the sun and no one knew where they’d come from but before you could get to them they disappeared.’—The society wasn’t swayed by what they called, ‘crazy forest talk’ and simply reiterat-ed that their decision was based on multiple reasons and the risk was too large but that a solution would be found by next Spring.

SHOCKER: CHABRA FALLS CANCELLEDTightrope Walkers Disappoint Countless Fans

The Greasy Jubilee is rearing its head and preparing another incredible festival that promises to be just as

amazing if not more so than last years. —The 3 day festival pulls thousands into the Greasy region to witness some of the most entertaining acts of the year. Last year, esteemed acrobat Sarefta Snyder wowed on-lookers with her ‘Spring Ceremony’ dance that depicted the blos-soming of Spring through outrageous contortions and petal soft floating which hypnotized the crowd. The Subterranean Spook House proved to be just as terrifying as always with guest being led into dark chambers beneath the Haunted House and abandoned on boats in a river where they had to find their way in half lit spooky mazes. There were also the spectacular ‘Light weavers’ that created a glow-in-the-dark spider web of light with their luminescent flying. The Ad-dison Hall Quintet made many fans happy playing favorite, ‘dream the day’ and the sensational fire show led by the Rot on the topped off the Greasy Jubilees Grand Celebration. —Those who just came to look at interesting keepsakes and

hand made treasures or to just taste something sweet had plenty to choose from. Favorite spot, Hennepin’s Weight-less Tea Room was on the scene with their delicious, freshly baked pasties and fragrant teas served up in elegant teaware in adorable, little weightless parlors. Pirate Pat’s Popcorn had all their finest & freshly popped corns on display. Or-ange pulp popcorn, black liquorice and sour grape were just a few of the choices and for kids they had no shortage of strange and intriguing types such as bubble gum which ac-tually turned from popcorn into gum and popcorn cotten candy. And of course, no jubilee would be complete without the tables and tables of curiosities which were too many to recount here. The reader will simply have to not miss this event that is only just around the corner and will feature acts such as: the Ander- ville Thrill, Il-luminated Hand, Ethela Stone & Lyle Tupper, the Anthony Vance Band and Storey Foote to name just a few.

Doctors, Philosophers and Historians have recently come together at the Institute of

General Relief to exchange note and thoughts on Spring Fever in hopes of encapsulating the phenomenon which affects so many creatures. —‘Yes, we had very constructive meetings. Very productive,’ said head co-ordinator Wren Guffey, who will be heading a team of writers in compiling all thoughts and point of views into 1 cohesive stream: a book. —

—‘You’ve got doctors that fault the sudden shift of grey to blue weather as the determining fac-tor of overall laziness and delusions that Spring can brings as gifts to some,’ Mrs. Guffey ex-plained, ‘and then there’s philosophers that in-sist its neither physical nor material but merely our souls yearning to unfurl in the Spring as

new budding leaves do. They liken it to hiber-nators who have after a dark Winters repose, confronted their inner, hidden worlds and are then ready to meet the outer world where they can suddenly experience Spring Fever and that is the case for most. But Historians are quick to point out that though they agree with the seasonal approach of this philosophy, history shows us it’s not factually accurate as the ma-jority of creatures simply do not come out in Springtime to, ‘face the World’ and that, that is merely a romantic notion. In fact, millions of insects stay snug underground until the crack-ling heat of high Summer—’—Apart from all the obvious differences, agree-ments were made and they were (somehow) funneled into large stacks of scattered notes that will be deciphered and translated, hopefully in time for the cozy months of next Winter.—For now, one can look around and see the flurry and excitement of Spring Life. Happily returning birds eager to make nests, bicycling friends with basketfuls of flowers ready to be planted and the new arrival of Spring life, be it Animal, Flower or Fairy—

The Mystery of Spring Fever has been Solved! (...maybe)

Kite Cutters show their TeethSeemingly sweet and inexperienced Etta

Perev pulled her own on Saturday, as the winds whipped up a near storm in Cambden’s Field. 16 yr. old Perev, niece of famous kitest Lady Nay Alderade, wasted no time in using the winds like a pro as she swept low with her polka dotted butterfly that hinted at its intent with its sharply gleaning colored glass pieces and instantly cut and claimed Nate Irveeny’s soaring, warty toad— raising many a brow. —If anyone thought that family relation would in some way protect Lady Nay’s gorgeous Silver Dagger kite then they were wrong for that kite seemed to be the special object the little butterfly stalked but it wasn’t to be, as Perev’s wondrous talents still proved to be no match for her more experienced Aunt who made a backwards sneak attack and to the shock of the crowd suddenly jerked back and sliced the fragile and unsuspecting string of the butterfly, thus claiming it. —There were other remarkable feats such as the arrival of an enormous sea monster kite with intricate shimmering scales that caused uproarious applause from the field of picnick-ing folk, much to the delight of owner, Har-riet Wene. It soared life like and majestic and seemed oblivious to the other kites that des-

perately tried to snatch at its exposed string until it quickly snapped to the left and sliced the string of Felix Kittley and caused his slith-ering eel to fall fast from above. —A great white shark was an ominous pres-ence at the corner of the field that seemed to soar uncaring above all else waiting for the perfect smaller victim that he could slice at with his colored glass teeth and just such a victim came foolishly close: a periwinkle cup-cake complete with colorful speckles bobbed, innocently by and before his owner was even aware that the great grey thing above him was not a cloud but indeed a shark, his string was already cut and the cake collapsed, deflated to the ground. —Watching the kite cutters remain to be one of the most popular sports with spectators as the scene of gorgeous kites riding the backs of winds and the sudden drops and swoosh-es of cut kites have been known to become strangely addictive. —‘I always look forward to seeing what kind of kite Lady Nay has, of course,’ said long time fan, DeeDee Conley, ‘I love the Silver Dagger and the Purple Rain Cloud from last year was fantastic but my all time favorite was the Tear.’

—Another fan disagreed and preferred Lady Nay’s kite enemy, Piatt Ross’s vulture from this year that was smooth and black and seemed to keep more to itself, calculating his next attack from afar. —A younger fan chimed in that she preferred the sweeter kites like the Butterfly or the Bou-quets or the Shooting Star that looked just like a real shooting star.—Recent attacks between Lady Nay Al-derade and Piatt Ross have intensified over the last 2 years prompting rumors to spread that the two have a serious dislike of one an-other. Last years brilliant cut by Alderade of one of Ross’s most prized kites, a pirate ship that was given to him by his father increased the weight of his own personal chip towards her and speaking of the Tear it was Ross who claimed that notorious and famed Lady Nay design. Although resentment over kite claim-ers is nothing new and is a part of the game many whisper that perhaps their playing is getting a bit more disrespectful then it should. With no shortage of evil eyes shot from across fields, unprompted. Lady Nay recently told reporters, however, that she ‘absolutely does not harbor any hard feelings against Ross and believes neither does he. We are both profes-

sionals and do what we can to cut as many kites as possible.’—Every Weekend in the month of April ama-teur and pro kitests alike are welcome to join the Sabol Kite Flying Club out at Cambden’s Field but are warned that their kites will also be up for the cutting. —Famed Kitere ‘Cioba’ in Riley will open its shop + galleries to the public in April where a tour of the underground museum is possible as well as lectures on the kite making process and history.

Ainslie’s Creeping Spidery Success! When Ainslie Theater was set to pro-

duce the play, ‘the Carpenter & the Spider’ by newcomer, Finney Addison, it was greeted with astonished, blank faces from the Theater Community.—Many asked -Who? And why the gamble? Why use all that energy on someone who hadn’t been seasoned yet? On a script that was rumored to be, - Dull & Dreary -?

Most were certainly not expecting the smashing reception it received when Elnor Sekins and Ebinizer Dobos took to the stage, opening night on March 2 and started weav-ing their metaphoric webs together.—‘No, no,’ began Varinex Theater director, Harriet Hereyford, ‘I’m ashamed to say we didn’t think it would succeed but naturally went to opening night to lend our support. Many of us wondered how they were going to keep the audience from falling asleep! I’m proud to say we were wrong!’—Quickly, the audience became entangled in a web of words; some hilarious— others ter-rifying swapped between a Carpenter build-ing a table and a Spider constructing a web. Each with their own tools and their own tech-niques and each a mirror of the other while

the audience grew quickly immersed into the clever wit of a brilliantly written play. A simple play about Life and Tragedy one that Ainslie’s Theater Director, Patty Ann Cha-lan said, ‘didn’t need the distraction of sets or elaborate costumes or intricate and entertain-ing song and dance. As often times is the case with a talent like Addison, a table was the only set we needed.’—That and 2 dazzlingly talented actors who had been strongly steeped in their professions for many years and brought to the piece much experience which in turn helped steer the un-likely play towards success. Veteran Spider, Elnor Sekins recently said ‘that she was ab-solutely delighted to be working on such a challenging production’ which saw her spin-ning webs nightly and added that ‘it was both

physically and mentally exhausting but very satisfying in the end.’—‘No one knew what to expect,’ concluded Mrs. Chalan, ‘not until the curtain dropped and they were met with thunderous applause. We’re glad we went with our gut.’—Finney Addison is glad, too. ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be asked to run it again due to its success. I worked very hard on that play and wanted to create a labyrinth of mirrors writ-ten through words. I wanted each character to lead the other down through a maze until they turned into each other. Switched identi-ties. It seemed ambitious and far fetched at the time but they say and I believe so— that I pulled it off. I thank the Ainslie Theater for rolling me the ball.’

The Extraordinary and much Acclaimed Mime Troupe, the Merripen-Fairweathers

have been confirmed to headline the Greasy Jubilee in May much to the delight of their many fans. Known for their marvellous stage shows full of little intricate stories that weave their way through magical dance and move-ment and strange song, the Merripen-Fair-weathers, never disappoint. —A miming tradition that stretches back hun-dreds of years finding it’s roots with Aber-hama Merripen who was the very first to tell her little stories through intriguing movement and song. Aberhama was only 14 at the time she published a little books of poems entitled, ‘the Apple Tree’ to notable success. When asked to do readings she instead opted to tell her stories through the miming dances which were well received. Later on, she married performer Rye Fairweather and together they created the Merripen -Fairweathers with each of their children joining the Miming Troupe which quickly grew in popularity. Local His-torian, Annie Kirby elaborates:—‘They traveled around the region far and wide; even to the Isles of Keokuk and Paskewyn where to this day, one can eas-ily skim historical papers and find exciting reviews about their stunning performances. Much in the style of a Circus, their troupe traveled and performed with always more fabulous shows and ornate costumes accom-panied by incredible songs that quickly grew

addictive to their fans. These days, mother and daughter team, Brishen and Calandra are the executors of the Merripen-Fairweather Legacy and nothing is ever created or cho-reographed that doesn’t adhere to the strict code.’—Last year, the Mime troupe performed at the Apple Festival in Dauphin Wood a much anticipated Revival of the ancient classic, ‘the Apple Tree’ which was the original mimes of Aberhama. ‘The Apple Tree’ depicted the rise and fall of the apple from tiny seedling to twisting vine to flowering blossoms to shiny, red fruit that eventually turned to rot and was absorbed once gain, in the Apple Tree. —Many called it ‘the absolute Crowning Glo-ry of the Apple Festival and that it ‘still lives on in memories of many’–Any and all who have the chance to come out to the Greasy Jubilee and see the Mer-ripen-Fairweathers should not resist.

ganidan Lagoon Land of Enchanting Waters

Ganidan Lagoon sits nestled, hidden al-most at the bottom of Cape Marion’s

Kizzy Bluff. If you didn’t know it was there, you wouldn’t even know to look. But if you did, you would know that just beyond that jagged piece of cliff and down a little path-way lays hidden an Enchanting Lagoon, a refuge for diners that like their meals float-ing out in the open sea and under the full moon.

Proprietor, Eben Zale got the idea while traveling through forests of Drobny 10 years ago,‘there were all these fabulous places to sit and have a drink by the waters edge. Re-lax and watch the sun on the river and I just thought why couldn’t the tables and chairs be on small little floating platforms separate from each other? How great would it be to have that out on the sea? To watch the Sunset in peace.’ —Eben Zale quickly set to work after return-ing to his Cape Marion Home that already was close to the coast just above Kizzy and started drawing out his ideas, ‘before I knew

it I had discovered this amazing cove just un-der Kizzy. It’s like it had been waiting for me all this time!’—The cove offers an immense cave ballroom with the sea on either end; an escape from sudden winds should they rise up from the coast as they often do. A large Chandelier hangs from it’s middle casting rays of light upon the smooth waters and cavern walls. A collection of 20 of the floating tables are already laid out for the evening with small vases and single stem roses. Flickering col-ored candles are already lit and the wait-resses busy them selves with the upcoming evening. —‘The waitresses that was the key,’ Zale continues walking to the other side of the ballroom which leads out onto the open sea where another collection of more private tables await to see the twilight ‘I didn’t now how the food was going to be served from one table to the next. Finding top notch cooks was the easy part as well as the loca-tion, it happened as if by magic but there was a 2 week period where I literally had no idea how we were going to get the food—the drinks to the guests! A restaurant with no ser-vice was hardly going to be a restaurant! It didn’t take long for there to come one day, lo and behold, 2 mermaids looking for work! It was a miracle! I have a phenomenal staff.’—Later on the guests are content, enjoying the rocking of the waves out in a perfect Spring evening, the stars twinkling above and the gently breeze blowing.

Monstrosity in Orosi Square

The Unveiling of the new, much antici-pated sculpture honoring famous Sib-

lian Archibald Baird at Orosi Square in preparation of the Sibley Flower Festival, took place on Saturday with much hoopla and fanfare. The sculpture by acclaimed art-ist Cree Montgomery was paid for not only by Sibley but also by the generous donations of many of the townsfolk and most couldn’t think of a better way to pay tribute to the cel-ebrated botanist who is famous for bringing many beautifully wild and exotic plant spe-cies to the region as well as starting the be-loved Flower Festival that attracts creatures far and wide. A parade of flowery floats was in attendance and an abundance of people that crowded the square to get a look at the gigantic piece of art that would soon make up a visual piece of their future days. After all, if you were to pass anywhere near Orosi Square you would be visually assaulted by the massive proportions of the artwork en-titled, ‘the Adventures of Archibald’.—The ribbon cutting was a dramatic af-fair and finally the great shiny scissors cut through the satiny ribbon and Cree Mont-gomery snipped at the corners of the tightly stretched canvas which snapped up and the sculpture was suddenly, there. Looming and dark and certainly impressive if not rather, out of place. —

There were audible gasps and awwws from the audience as, ‘the Adventures of Archibald’ was instantly absorbing and pow-erful. Intricate flowers, large and luxurious, hung with mouths gaping wide open, some with toothy smiles and half crazed eyes. Their stem necks reaching out, ferociously. Out of the corners, sharp twigs like needles stitched together the blocks of stone that seemed so dark and crudely cut. Dramatic was an under-statement. The Crowd didn’t know whether to be impressed or simply scared of the thing that threatened to snatch out at them if they were to step too close. An awkward second unfolded into a minute and churned itself into several until finally someone had the good common sense to start slowly clapping for Mrs. Montgomery who without a doubt deserved some recognition for her piece that swallowed up all the light around and made the tall towering oaks beside, seem small and puny. Was this to fill our days for the next hundred years or so? Would this monstrosity be sprinkled with snow and allow fanciful ici-cles to hang from its ridges? Would the claw-ing, hands not break at the ice and threaten us with them, too? It was hard to imagine it framed by the quickly budding flowers that were themselves lovingly discovered, culti-vated and planted by the great Baird himself. Would they still grow?—Cree Montgomery, sensing the tension quickly ran to the defense of her sculpture and hurriedly said, ‘I wanted to pay hom-age to the wild and adventurous side of Archibald Baird! His Insatiable Curiosity! Most remember him for his beauty and love for living things while I focused on his Insanity...’—We definitely agree with that last state-ment; the new sculpture, ‘the Adventures of Archibald’ is truly Insane.

Beauty Salon Delivers the MoonWell, maybe not the Moon but it cer-

tainly will make your hair or fur shine like it. Walking in one is instantly greeted by a floral kingdom. Mirrors framed in lilacs, vio-lets , dripping yellow and purple wisterias and large glass bowls with bobbing rose heads. A heavy, herby perfume hangs in the air and intrigues the enterer as small gusts of mist puff out from invisible places. Founder and Creator and Coiffeur extraordinaire Besnik Benishi explains, —‘You see, walking in, it must be like walking into Spring. Little fountains. Little bird por-traits like of the Cardinal over there atop her nest. This is the safe haven for the hibernator who needs— no, no! — who must transform. And he will. Here, in my salon— he will!’—Besnik Benishie grew fascinated with the world of beauty and transformation at a young age, ‘I spent a long time choosing the perfect clothes and doing my hair. Then I did my sis-ters hair. Then her friends.’—He opened up his first salon, ‘Benishie De-sign Studio’ in Peapack at the tender age of 16 and quickly had a devoted clientele list. —‘I stayed at that location for many years and loved it but now, as with Spring and hair, it’s time for me to try something new. That’s why we moved to Adony.’—For the many customers that love him, this new salon will hardly disappoint. From mir-rors in attractive antique emerald glass that of-fers only the nicest reflection to the new state of the art chairs that relax the waiter, nothing falls short of its mark. But of course, these aren’t the reasons one steps into ‘Benishi’

to begin with — a great lure is his specially designed and unique hair and skin care line that covers an entire back wall with fanciful colored bottles full of all sorts of elixirs. —‘these— my special collection of hair and skin care can literally transform a dull, life-less—greasy fur into something electrical with —Wow! It can brighten the color and heal the damage. The smells are like a Spring Forest under a full moon or a cake being baked in a small cedar grove, sweet and spicy while com-pletely revolutionizing the Fur follicle.’—And from the utter ecstatic cries of joy from customers turned around to face their reflec-tions to the hopeful glances of newcomers, you know that it’s true. Hair shines a pale silvery blue or slices with its bold colors. Any color is available. Hairs are soaked in roots and sun dried, powdered to perfection, curled and braided. —‘Many of the current hair styles are volumi-nous with large buns and elaborate decora-tions. Hair Jewelry has made a return— thank-fully. It is a very exciting Time.’ Benishi assures.

That wonderful time of year when the air seems to grumble and groan with thunder-

ous anticipation. The quiet before the storm; the quiet before the Spring! For wherever you are and wherever you live, when the Birds re-turn the heavy silence of Winter will simply be gone—

—In order to take part in all this busying and fluttering we must prepare our houses for Spring— be they underground, high in tree tops or merely upon the grass, they must be gotten ready. For starters, there is Spring Cleaning which is absolutely essential but how can we steer the atmosphere of ‘Cozy’ out and on its way and usher in Light and Bright and Cheery? These small tips will have your nest or den looking just right in no time!—Flinging open Curtains is a sure fire way to start! Not only are you inviting in Spring and Light but you are saying to yourself and the World, I am ready for this new Season! Unlike Winter who is always shunned, Spring is a much welcome guest.

—Next, there is an abundance of Cherry, Ap-ple and Elderberry Blossoms just desperate to make it into some cool water and placed with a loving hand about your home. These will not only cleanse the air they will also lend to it a light ‘Springy’ perfume that is most pleasing to guests. Don’t forget: No Spring windowsill is complete without freshly budding bulbs of hyacinths and completes the perfect fragrance of the home. —Take away all those fluffy winter pillows and thick quilts that present a ‘den-like’ ambience to a room. No need for pillows when one shall always be outside! —And all the things to do out there! Start with clearing out your verandas and de-weeding your vegetable and flower patches. It is now time to get your hands dirty and start planting all the things you desire to eat or smell in the Summer. Careful planning is a must and in but a few short months your garden will flourish without the tiniest thought for this early Spring preparation. Always remember to stuff it to the brim with herbs such as a variety of Mints, Lavender Thyme, Fennel and Chamomile which are just some of the must have’s. Don’t forget Sage, Basil and Rose Hips which are perfectly delicious added to Iced Teas during high summer and sprinkled over many culinary delights. Singing aloud is crucial this time of year as it will shoo away any invisible entities not totally charmed by your song. Plus both houses and water love song and will grow happier from it. Maricopa contin-ues to be a high-

light amongst the many Spring Fairs with it’s lovely candle lit streets and unique emporiums with hidden back court-yards open to the pub-lic. A favorite among visitors is the Ludwig Lystilla Museum that does an Evening En-chantment of the Sculp-tures giving them the fantastic ability to blink an eye or utter a whispered word. Flickering candles decorate the massive halls and one finally has the opportunity to ask a statue something— that is, if they’ll answer. —Museum Coordinators encourage any and all to come and see the museum at dark, the experience alone is a rewarding one! —As usual, the General hospital will allow guests a peek at its basements full of curiosi-ties that are normally closed to the public ex-cept for on this one night. An exciting amuse-ment for the Brave!—Maricopa’s many shops & restaurants will hold extended hours until midnight and of-

fer plenty of warm treats if the night suddenly turns to chill and the popular Tea Garden, ‘Sadie Lutes’ will also be open.

The ever flourishing Sibley Flower Fes-

tival will kick off on Sat-urday where an abun-dance of Flower petals aims to be scattered

throughout the historical town in tribute to its flowery history and repute. Archilbald Baird, botanist and notable Siblian and founder of the Flower Festival is responsible for many of the exotic species one can see planted around the town. Now with the eccentric addition of ‘the Adventures of Archibald’, recently plopped in the middle of Orosi Square, Mr. Baird’s spirit is definitely what one could call ‘flourishing’. With this spirit in mind, all are welcome to sprinkle the town with petals, either on foot or on bike there’s no way, Sibley won’t be covered! Flower Pa-rade, Musical acts and Refreshments!

The Anderville Thrill continues to amaze all who have set their ears upon them

and many contemplate just what is it, that makes them so utterly Thrilling? There are more than a few things. The gorgeous songs are often described as a tapestry of sound. —The soaring operatics of frontman Chik Mirga mixes with the eloquence and booming bass of the Anura Toad Choir but there’s also something else; something so singular and so completely ‘the Thrill’ that sets them apart: the Percussions. ‘We feel that the Rocks and Minerals we use offer that extra something that you can’t find anywhere else,’ percussionist composer Toby Tamas said, ‘there is an energy in them, a silent yet steady hum that can draw up sounds into a tension and release them at the perfect times. They learn fast and want to transmit, they too, want to self express.’—And their expressions seems to be yearned for, ‘they are a remarkable band. I saw them in the Moultrian Caves at the Minadarko Ballroom and it was just phenomenal,’ said fan, Vinny Wofford, ‘The stones were glow-

ing and in the background the choir croaked like thunder in the distance and then the warning howls of Chik, really, we’ve never seen anything like them. Now, we’re ad-dicted.’—But the band is a picky one and won’t just perform anywhere and at anytime and this is to blame partly on the moods of the miner-als, ‘We just can’t book them for whenever. They have to be set into the mood. They have to want to do it. Attention y’see, is no motivation. With them, it’s pure inspiration. It’s rather difficult!’—

— And, it has caused more than a few prob-lems. Just this past Winter, they were set to perform at the popular Attica pier where fans braved the icy winds to experience the minerals and rocks off the coast and ‘wouldn’t you know, they just didn’t feel up to it. The coast was dark and we were half of what we usually were.’ said Tamas— So how can they possibly make com-mitments? Already they have the popular Greasy Jubilee booked and many want to know if the percussions will be with them, ‘I mean it’s still good without them but it’s a completely different and otherworldly thing when their on,’ concluded Wofford.—‘The only way,’ Tamas summed up, ‘is if we starve them of their expression. That’s what we’ve learned. No rehearsals. Ignore them completely for 2 weeks prior and they’ll be rearing to go. They live by a different set of rules. We just have to follow theirs.’—The Greasy Jubilee has an exciting pro-gram this year with acts from all over the re-gion set to perform Dance, Comedy, Music and Magic.

HELP!

from the Horsetor ianHelp!...

Dear Horsetorian, 8 years ago, a spell was cast over me and I have tried ever since, to break free from the Enchantment; which is a ferocious ap-petite. Every expert I spoke with said 7 years is the ticket. Well alas, 7 years have rolled by and I am still in the same boat. What should I do? Hungry as Hay

Dear Hungry as Hay,I’ve often heard this excuse before with larger creatures and though it’s possible, it’s unlikely. First off, Enchantments don’t come cheap, especially 7 year Enchant-ments! Second: it’s True, after 7 years the Enchantment should have instantly dissolved. Sorry, no in betweens. Passing on Sweets will take care of your ‘Enchant-ment’. HH

Dear Horsetorian, I’m quite a large troll that is intrigued by womens fashion and jewelry. I love all the colors and variety they have opposed to the mens. I think they look fabulous on my particular figure and skin tone. I would dress like this all the time but still haven’t told my family. How do I do this without shocking them? Too Big to Hide it

Dear Too Big to Hide itChildren love when their parents are styl-ish so as long as you keep it sharp and pick out your clothes with an editing eye you won’t be disappointing them. HH

Hi Horsetorian, Easter is just around the bend and what’s a bunny to do? I have the same problem as your mummy in the Autumn edition: I get invited to every Easter Egg Gig in town, where my nervous tendencies make people laugh but it is taking a toll on my happiness. I keep waking up shaking with nightmares of children laughing at me. I need to get through this Easter without potions & herbs please help!Nervous Nelly

Dear Nervous Nelly,No potions will help cure you so get them out of your mind. If you’re uncomfortable being an Easter bunny then don’t be one! You’ll be surprised to see how quickly you’re replaced. Try your hand at being a Bloody Bunny for Hallowe’en— might suit your temperament better and you have plenty of time to create the perfect Character! HH

Dear Horsetorian I died so I could be with my fiancee and

now that I’m here, she’s flirting with some other dude. She barely even says hi to me and when I talk to her she just sort of fades in and out. How can I get her at-tention and remind her that we were just about to have a Life together back there in Life... the Hanged Man

Dear the Hanged Man, You’re obviously in a Limbo of your own fears and you need to break free from it before you can ‘converse’ with anyone. Mix that with that you’re coming on a little strong. Ghosts don’t appreciate be-ing stalked and they love to play hard to get. HH

Howdy Horsetorian, Once again, I have just woken up and heard about the ‘Wonders of Winter’ and what a glorious one it was; filled with silvery, powdery snow! I missed it again. Just read the winter Edition of the Filigree and have seen all I have missed and I’m a little annoyed I can’t stay awake during it. I feel like I’ve missed the best part of the year. Why do Fairies have to hibernate and isn’t there a drought I can take? There has to be some other way to get to Winter. Wanted: Winter Wonderland

Dear Wanted: Winter WonderlandI’m afraid there’s only one way to get to Winter and that’s through Autumn! For a hibernator there are powerful Elixirs one can take but you must be warned: these come with Intense Side Effects. Your per-ceptions will be very distorted and what others perceive as a Wonderland can eas-ily be a Sleepless Nightmare for you. HH

Hello Horsetorian, I’m a water spirit that entices people to drown. But I haven’t gotten anyone to

drown in years although I believe that my water lilies are the most beautiful and ir-resistible. It’s beginning to take a toll on my self-esteem. Dying to Drown

Dear Dying to DrownTime to visit a Spirit Convention and learn some new tricks of the trade. Nowa-days everyone’s got a pretty water lily and children learn early on that they’re dan-gerous to pick. Perhaps your methods are dated or you’re lacking Intrigue? HH

Mr. Horsetorian, My mom’s a psychic and my granny was one, too and they are both well known and have been helping people for genera-tions with their powers. When my grand-mother passes I’m expected to take on her Crystal Ball but I don’t see anything in the crystal ball except my own confused expression! How do I tell them and risk disappointing them? Blind Psychic

Dear Blind Psychic Your Crystal Ball merely needs to be cleansed as is the usual process when it is passed on. Your mother and Granny know this but I imagine you were to em-barrassed to tell them. Don’t worry, it’ll get rinsed when the time comes and you might be surprised at the gift you’ve in-herited. HH

Dear HorstorianSpring is an especially difficult time for me as I have lost my power of flight due to an accident. While the rest of life seems to flit around excited, I can barely hobble with my crutches out to get the mail! How can I possibly face the day in this new chapter? Broken Arrow

Dear Broken ArrowFirst of all, Welcome to our Grounded World! We are many here that survive and are happy without flying and we just get on with it. Embrace your new chapter and quit whining! At least you flew. HH

Dear Horsetorian, My wife’s parents have never really ac-cepted me and I’m afraid that this is due to my being a Carnivore. They always have this alert look in their eyes as if I’m going to ‘Eat’ them. How can I gain their trust and let them know that I would never ‘Eat’ my own family! Just not that Hungry

Dear Just not that HungryThey’ll never give your kind a 100% of

their trust and this is why they are still alive. HH

Dear Horsetorian, I have been traveling through time for most of my life and now I feel like I have no roots or sense of presence. I’m missing a connection with the Now. How can I get that? Tired of Time

Dear Tired of TimeTime doesn’t care who you pick, so just pick one and stick with it. The concept of Time is overrated anyway but it is im-portant to be where you are, no matter if you’re Early or Late. HH

Dear Horsetorian, My metamorphism is due and I’m afraid my husband won’t love me anymore— Scared of Change

Dear Scared of ChangeYou will be the exact same but there’s a possibility he may no longer find you physically beautiful. This is something the 2 of you will have to work out and is a common problem I hear about all the time. If it’s any consolation it usually works out for the best. HH
