This just in, the Falcons scored again. Man that was ugly. Well it was fun while it lasted. We had big crowds and a great time cheering and over eating while watching the games on our new TV. Thanks to Jay and the Demeny’s for getting that new TV purchased and installed. Even though the Pack won’t be there you can still bring a dish and cheer or boo or just watch the commercials during the Super Bowl. Even though football season is over there are always things to do at the club. The chili cook off will take place during the Daytona 500 on Feb 26 th . As always, there are buck burgers on Tuesday’s, Mexican Thursday’s and Fish on Friday’s. We always need help taking orders and bussing tables so why not get an early start on getting your 25 hours by helping out on one of those nights. No matter if you’re a full or social member your help goes a long way towards making our club successful. Looking down the road we have the inter club party at our club on April 1 St , the Blessing of the fleet on May 13 th , Mother’s Day brunch on May 14 th , and the Luau July 22nd. We need your help to make these events happen so please think about stepping up and getting involved. Everyone should have received an invoice for your membership dues so save yourself some money and get it paid on time. Remember the late fee is applied every month until your invoice is paid. Dock holders remember to get your dock applications in with insurance information and deposit. Since I’m not a skier or snowmobiler I just keep telling myself every day is a day closer to spring and Dock Day. Stay warm be safe and see you at the club. Jim

Entertainment Mary Jackson Hello everyone!
To get things started we only have 13 more Fridays until boating season, am I the only one counting? With that being said the calendar of events for the year is in this newsletter. If you are interested in chairing an event please let me know. It is a great way to contribute to the club and get some hours in. There is a list of events that need a host on the bulletin board. I received word that the Men’s Yooper smoker was “great” with 40 in attendance.
As of this moment I have not heard what the February smoker theme will be but the signup sheet will be on the bulletin board and I am sure the Duck O Gram will keep us posted. Ruthi McMonagle has local Celebrity Chef Ace Champion coming back to the club on Sunday February 12th Class Starts at 12pm and lasts about 3 hours. You will be learning 3 recipes and get to taste each one and take the recipe home. Space is limited to 25 people so sign up on the bulletin board soon. If you have any other questions the flyer is hanging up at the club or you can contact Ruthi at [email protected] The chili cook off along with the Daytona 500 is Feb 26
th and the sign
up sheeet is on the back bulletin board. Start tasting at 1pm and the cost will be $5.00 so if everyone could have their entry at the club 12:30 that would be great! The Inter club will be at our club this year; I am still working out the etails but will get them out ASAP. If anyone is interested in helping please let Jay Zahn, Jim Manlick or myself know. See you at the club!

Hi everyone, we are planning on starting something new to help keep the club looking beautiful, a fun way to put in some hours and a little competition with some recognition at the end of the season. That is adopt a flower bed. So I am asking for your ideas to help with a plan that can be put out in the March Dockline, so we can be ready for spring. Just a reminder, if you see slippery spots please help out by spreading some salt which is by the entrance of the club. Thank you

Greetings from the house. New this month we have added a few new products for the bar. Johnny Walker Red and Black are now available along with Coors NA. Todd could always use help. It’s a great way to get hours. You don’t have to wait until November or December to help. Get them done before boating season. The new TV is up and running. We put the other one in the back room. The one that was back there is available to take home. It is a 57” projection TV. Still has a great picture. Let me know if you are interested. The bartenders work hard to know everyone but in the case they ask you for your yacht club membership card don’t be offended they are just doing the job we are asking them to do. With new members coming in all the time the task of being familiar with everyone is hard. All members should be receiving a membership card. Please carry it with you. Remember when you invite non members to the club you have to be there to greet them or make arrangements with a member to sponsor them for you until you get there. It may seem like a small thing but the rules are in place for us to make our experience a special one at the club. It’s one of the reasons you pay dues. One last thing, when you rent the clubhouse you can put the tables in any configuration that works for your function. All we ask is that you put the tables back as close as possible and make sure the room is cleaned up. Usually not a problem, but worth mentioning. Unfortunately the Pack lost but don’t let that stop you from coming down to the club for the Super Bowl.

At the December 5th Board meeting it was agreed that only members of the GBYC are able to utilize the Yacht Club credit card processor behind the bar. Member use of that machine for dues or fees will be charged an additional 5% fee that was approved by the General Membership a few years ago as stated on the Dues and Fees Schedule. At this time, bar or food purchases by members will not be assessed any extra fee. All others are to use the ATM machine located by the front window where a flat $2.00 fee is charged. If a member brings a guest to the GBYC, the member needs to make their guest aware of this and it is not the responsibility of the bartender to educate the guest. If a member sponsors a party for a guest, again the member is responsible for informing their guest.
The bartenders have been informed that they should ask for a membership card if they do not recognize the person(s). Two membership cards are being mailed to all members when they have paid their annual dues by the Club Secretary to alleviate any confusion if the member and/or spouse visit the club separately.
In addition, as has been for the last year, a $10 minimum credit charge purchase (not including tip) by members applies.

Hello Fellow GBYC'ers, Well, it is almost time to start thinking about the 2017 boating season, who am I kidding?...like I needed to tell you all that, right? Anyway....the boat shows are in full swing and it's time to get in your GBYC Dock Application if you haven't already done so. The Green Bay Yacht Club Dock Assignment Committee will be meeting in approximately a month or so to assign Docks for the 2017 Boating Season. Reminder: Deposit is mandatory with your Dock Application. The Green Bay Yacht Club Dock Committee will be meeting in mid February, tentatively February 18th, to discuss upcoming GBYC Harbor upgrades etc. for the 2017 Boating Season also.

If you are a current GBYC Dock Holder I strongly suggest that you attempt to attend the next few GBYC General Meetings. At the meetings I will convey and outline the proposals of the Dock Committee. I will also state to the membership what was discussed, and how we will proceed in accomplishing our intended goals, both operationally and financially. Thank you.
Well, that’s all for now...take care, be safe and hope to see you at the club!...”I’m out!”

Building
Jim Thompson Hello everybody this is your building guy Jim. Don't have much to report, just looking for some more chairs and some pub style tables. Everything else is working pretty good. This is where I comment on you guys seeing my wife at the bar by herself and buy her a beer while I'm working my butt off in the building. But unfortunately she is having some health issues and I hope you keep her in your prayers because we have a long road ahead of us. Thanks and looking forward to the boating season. I don't know if anybody noticed, but this is my longest letter ever.
Thanks,
Jim
