In 2009 due to economic conditions, lackluster results from Traditional Marketing, and the rise of Social Media...companies began to rethink how they
communicated with consumers.
Companies in 2009 mostly sat on the sidelines and watched what was going on in Digital Communication which includes Social Media. The good news is even
though most companies were sitting on the sidelines they were realizing there was a need to jump in.
Towards the end of 2009 companies began to finally allocate parts of their 2010 budgets towards Digital Communication. Pepsi is a great example of moving
money out of Traditional Media and placing it in Social Media.
We are now here in 2010 and the “Digitizing of Business” has begun. Companies are trying to quickly figure out their Digital Communication Strategies and find
the right people to execute them.
"The Digitizing of Business" as displayed by this chart is the process of changing how a company communicates with consumers.
Instead of spending lots of money spraying and praying with Traditional Media's one way communication to reach consumers companies can now choose a highly
targeted and engaged approach through the use of Digital Communication.
By "The Digitizing of Business" companies can surround consumers with the messages they want to receive, engage them in two way conversations, and create
a highly trackable system to ensure the ultimate ROI.
We are in 2010...a new decade and a time for a completely different way to look at how your company interacts with consumers. Stop spending money on the old
expensive methods of reaching consumers and digitize your company today.
