Mrs Toni Thomas

Our school is committed to building a safe and happy environment for students, staff, parents and

the broader community.

We encourage parents and carers to advocate strongly on their child’s behalf and, as part of this,

expect them to raise concerns about their child.

Sometimes these concerns may relate to the way a child may have been treated by another stu-

dent at this school.

It is natural for parents and carers to feel protective of their children.

However you must not raise any concerns you have about behaviour of another child directly

with that child (or his or her parents while they are at school) but should instead report your con-

cerns to the principal or a member of the executive team.

Your concerns will be taken seriously and responded to promptly.

If a parent, carer or other community member raises their concerns directly with a child (or their

parents while they are at school) this may result in the access that person has to the school site

being restricted or withdrawn.

We greatly value the contribution parents, carers and other community members make to the

school community and do not wish to take any action that impacts on their participation in school

activities.

Please let us know if you have concerns about the behaviour of another person’s child while

they are at the school or on school related activities.

Raising your concerns directly with the child (or his or her parents while they are at school)

could result in your access to the school site being restricted or withdrawn.

of competition was excellent. The events

on the first day were the 800m race and

the field events. The second day saw the

students compete in the 100m, 200m and

relay races. Bidwill Public School stu-

dents represented

our school with

pride. They tried

their best, were

respectful to other

competitors and

had a fun day.

Regional Athletics Carnival

A huge congratulations to Kordell (3

Lets have “lids” on all our kids!

As part of our school uniform, students are re-minded to wear a hat at school. All students are expected to wear a hat during lunch and when participating in sport. The office have Bidwill Public School caps for sale for $10 or bucket hats for $5.

You can help by reminding all students to bring a hat to school. This will be very much appreci-ated.

Last Thursday the 7th of September, Stage 3 went on an excursion to Sydney Aquarium. On the way there, we went over the Harbour Bridge and saw landmarks such as the Opera House.

When we arrived we had a lesson on the Great Barrier Reef as that's what we are studying in Geography. We learnt about different creatures as well as the threats to the Great Barrier Reef. We learnt about different sharks and got to look at and hold their jaws and eggs. After that, we went through the whole aquarium with our teachers and we got to see animals such as dugongs, sharks, fish and stingrays. We went through the tunnels and saw all different marine animals and types of coral. We were so lucky to visit the Penguin Encounter where we went on a raft and saw lots of penguins. Some were walking, some were laying down and some were diving in the water. At the end of our visit, we got to touch coral, sea cucumbers, shark eggs, sea sponges and other living things in the rock pool. After that, we boarded the bus and went back to school. It was a great day and I learnt a lot.
