FAITHGROUPS: What is it?

FaithGroups is a small-group ministry at Sacred Heart.

Groups of 5 to 10 parishioners meet to discuss faith and life.

The parish provides a video message based on the readings

of the previous Sunday, and a few questions to facilitate a

faith-based discussion.

Why should you join one?

It is in these small groups that our large Church becomes a

small Church. We are providing the environment where in-

dividuals can grow as disciples. People will be challenged

to become authentic and accountable about what is really

going on in their lives in a safe and supportive place.

Intentional faith-based relationships are key to sustained

spiritual growth. Members pray and care for one another,

and develop friendships with other growing disciples.

When, where are the meetings?

Groups meet at different locations (usually the home of the

Faithgroup Facilitator) once a week. The meetings last an

hour and a half. Registration is open for Lent 2016 Faith-

Groups, five sessions beginning the week of February 14th

and finishing the week of March 14th (last session for the

group on Saturday, March 19th). Sign up forms are avail-

able after mass this weekend and also on our website:

http//www.sacredheart.com/#/ministries/faithgroups

Join a FaithGroup now and grow your faith!

THANK YOU A thank you to Jerry and Chris Zurawski family for the

many years of decorating our church for Christmas. We

appreciate their giving of time to make our church environ-

ment inviting during the Christmas Season.

THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD

A community that is committed to the intellectual, spiritual and personal growth of your child pro-vides plenty of reasons to be thankful. Catholic schools set the stage for years of positive results, including:

• Academic excellence – 99% of our stu-dents graduate and 94% pursue education.

• Enriching Catholic values – students are immersed daily in Gospel values.

• A supportive environment – Catholic schools partner with parents in helping chil-dren develop a Christ-centered life.

• Giving back – graduates of Catholic schools volunteer and donate more within their communities.

Why wait to start giving your child all the benefits of a Catholic education? Call John Paul II Acad-emy to learn more.

BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES Thank you for all the donations of backpacks

and school supplies during the summer! In

mid-October the Girl Scouts of JPII filled 80

backpacks for needy students in Racine area

schools. They were delivered to 5 area schools

including JPII, and many already delivered to

students in dire need of school supplies. This

was our 4th year and we have filled over 230

backpacks in these years. In June there will be

a flyer in the bulletin requesting supplies, so

that you can shop the sales for the items

needed. Thank you again for your generosity.

JOHN PAUL II ACADEMY - OPEN HOUSE Sunday, January 31, 11:15 am-1:15 pm

All Are Welcome

Whether you are interested in enrolling a child or grandchild or you just

want to see what we have been up to this year! We hope you will attend.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION Did you know that John Paul II Academy collects Box Tops

and Campbell Soup labels? Did you also know that each box

top is worth 10 cents and a free and easy way to help our school and class-

rooms? You can find the pink Box Top on hundreds of participating

products. Just clip it off the product, collect them in ziplock bags or enve-

lopes and deposit them in the Box Top receptacle located at the church

entrance. We encourage you to ask relatives, friends, and neighbors to

clip those Box Tops too! During the month of January, we have a school

wide competition. The classroom that collects the most Box Tops will

earn a free dress down and movie day. If you would like your box tops to

count toward a child or classroom please write their name and grade on

the bag or envelope. Thank you and happy clipping! For more info about

Box Tops for Education or a list of participating products visit
