The Switch version of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the definition of a “system-seller” and became the company’s fastest-selling launch game. It’s also the fastest-selling game in the series’ 31-year history.

Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a big hit for the company and stands as the fastest-selling entry in the history of the series.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an updated version of a game that Nintendo first released on the Wii U console in 2014, and the comparatively low cost of bringing it to the Switch console suggests the game will be hugely profitable.

Sony’s Horizon: Zero Dawn launched at the end of February and had sold more than 3.4 million copies by the beginning of June.

That’s a very strong performance for a new intellectual property and bodes well for sales of the game’s upcoming downloadable expansion. It also suggests that Sony will develop a sequel.

Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands had the biggest launch of any game in 2017 so far and posted the second-best launch of any title in the company’s Tom Clancy franchise.

Wildlands sales performance helped Ubisoft deliver a 41% operating income increase in its last fiscal year. It also helped push the registered player base of Tom Clancy games to 44 million users – up more than 150% over the last 18 months.

In North America, Grand Theft Auto V has ranked as high as No. 3 and never below No. 6 in each sales month this year. That’s an incredible performance for a game that first released in 2013.
