1 Term 3 Week 6 27th August 2018 Principals Message Friday Assembly Last Friday we held a special assembly where Mr Pat Conroy presented our Year 6 student cerficates as a memento of their visit to Parliament House Canberra this week. He pointed out to the students that their visit was very mely with the pending change to the posion of Prime Minister and that the week of their visit would become a significant part of Australian history. I wish all the Year 6 students a wonderful trip to Canberra an event that is always a highlight for students and hope they have packed plenty of winter wooliiesas the temperatures drop below zero! Dress as a Farmer DayOn Friday we also supported our farmers with our Dress as a Farmer DayIt was wonderful to again see the Caves Beach PS spirit in acon with so many students and staff dressed up and ready to donate, as of today $1920.00 to this very worthy cause. I also thank those that have already donated formal wear as this will be of great help to those in effected areas ensuring the Yr 6, Yr 10 and Yr 12 students are able to aend the respecve formals appropriately ared. We will connue collecng ll Friday 14 th September. Sunday Funday It is full steam ahead in the organisaon of our next major fundraiser Sunday Funday on Sunday 16 th September. A note was distributed last week asking for parent help to run a number of class stalls. If you are able to help in any way please return the slip to the school office. There is a lot planned for the day, apart from class stalls there will be food vans, goods stalls, school art show, rides games, all day entertainment and scenic helicopter rides. The signature pavers are on sale at the office and will be available on the day. The staff are also collang a fabulous 50 th Year book for sale on the day. Aſternoon Dismissal We connue to get posive feedback on the variaon to our recent changes to the dismissal of the students in the aſternoon. We are sll encouraging students to join our bus lines where possible. These students are supervised across to Park Ave where they can be met by parents in cars or to walk. This is reducing the congeson at the front of the school and improving the safety for all students. Restricng crossing at the boom crossing while the pickup zone is in operaon and providing a supervised crossing at the top of our school entrance has also made a huge difference to the flow of traffic. Sports Shirts/Singlets Can we ask everyone to have a look at home for any Caves Beach Sporng Team uniforms? We are missing quite a few Soſtball shirts and pants and Athlecs shirts and singlets. If you do have any of these items could you please return them to the office or Mr Egginton ASAP. Principal’s Message

Friday Assembly Last Friday we held a special assembly where Mr Pat Conroy presented our Year 6 student certificates as a memento of their visit to Parliament House Canberra this week. He pointed out to the students that their visit was very timely with the pending change to the position of Prime Minister and that the week of their visit would become a significant part of Australian history. FROM THE ADMINISTRATION OFFICE

This week we will be sending home Statement of Accounts for financial amounts owed to date for each family. As we have a number of camps and excursions we are currently collecting money for, the Statement will be handy for you to keep track of amounts owing and paid. Please contact the office on 49711838, if you have a discrepancy. Please provide us with as much information as possible, receipts, date of payment, payment method as this will assist us in a speedy result.

GOLD AWARDS

BAND NEWS Sunday Funday - Sunday, 16th September - Both bands have been invited to play at the Sunday Funday! Junior Band will perform at 11am and Senior Band at 12pm. This will be a great opportunity to perform for family and friends of the community. Friday Assembly Each week the Band (either Senior or Junior) will be playing an extra song at assembly. Upcoming events: Family Band Night - Save the Date - Thursday 13th September at 6pm at Caves Beach Hotel. We have had to change venue due to increased numbers. All children will have an opportunity to perform solo or ensemble on the night. Each band will also play. Mrs Scott will be talking to the children about their preparation for the night. More details to follow. Fees A few reminders: Fees can be paid by direct debit to the band account (separate to school account) Jr - $55 per term Sr - $65 per term Please let me know if you need a payment plan to assist with fee payment. Fathers Day

Spoil your special man at the Fathers Day Stall this Thursday! Year 6 campers you wont miss out, the stall will also be open on Friday. Volunteers urgently needed for the stall, please meet in the hall from 8am. Thankyou for your support and Happy Fathers day to all of our special super heros!

Buying Uniforms

Your school uniform shop is opened by our friendly volunteers from 2:30-3:30pm each Wednesday during the school term. Outside of these times we also offer a convenient order service.

1. Download the form from our school website http://www.cavesbeach-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/pc-canteen-uniform/school-uniform

2. Fill out your order form

3. Pay online via direct deposit from your cheque/savings account - details are on the order form. Attach a copy of your direct deposit receipt to your order OR Pay cash at the office. SORRY - WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS and unfortu-nately WE DO NOT HAVE EFTPOS FACILTIES available at the Uniform Shop.

4. Drop your order & receipt to the school office (or send with your child to hand in to the office). OR you can email your receipt & order directly to [email protected]

5. Your order will be delivered to your child's classroom or you can collect it from the office.

It's that easy - no need to rush around!!
