Tenggelamnya Van der Wijck, adapted from the novel writer's masterpiece while artists Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah, Hamka, and became the most expensive film ever produced by Soraya Intercine Films. Observation, preproduction process, selection of cast, began writing screenplays since 2008, meaning that has been running for five years. I think Hamka wrote the novel as social criticism for his people at the time. But I do not feel a part of this mixed seriously in the film. How important it is customary upheld , how discrimination is still strong for ' people do not have tribes ' . For me , who have different traditions, sometimes still

puzzled how serious the customs problems between Zainuddin and Hayati . I see the attempt to describe it in the film , but it seems not optimal . Instead we just get carried away with their love story not the custom and the culture.

Answer :The ending of the film Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der

Wijck so touching. In the part when Zainuddin got news that the ship carrying Hayati drowned , Hayati hospitalized in Tuban . With his friend Muluk, Zainuddin visit his beloved woman . Apparently their meeting was the last meeting for them it is the last breath for Hayati and deid in the arms Zainuddin. And in part this is a very sad part.

If there were a sequel I would like Zainuddin get woman better than Hayati but has the same character with her, then happy life and show to Datuk Hayati that he had been wrong choosing Aziz as Hayati’s husband and refuse Zainuddin.
