Page 5: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

PICTURE 1

it’s a society that provides information to everyone

A society which views education as important and in which knowledge should bring justice, solidarity, democracy and peace.

Page 6: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

A knowledge-based society refers to the type of society that is needed to compete and succeed in the changing economic and political dynamics of the modern world.

We are changing as a society and becoming a more educated and we rely on the knowledge of our citizens, and becoming more knowledgeable as we progress.

A CHANGING SOCIETY.

Page 7: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In order to build a Knowledge Society it needs to be incorporated with Information communication technology. It means in the process of teaching and learning technology must included, it must become an essential tool in the classroom.

Including

technology in in the classroom is very essential, it can be used

as a tool. It facilitates

better learning and teaching

Page 8: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Teachers need to develop new aptitudes in order to be fully qualified to teach in the knowledge society, because one needs to understand that it is a changing society and we need teachers who are trained and fully compatible with the knowledge society.

In order to arrive in a knowledge society we need new knowledge that cannot diminish to traditional disciplines. We need knowledge that cannot destroy our traditional disciplines because we are a society that has a rich sense of culture and technology.

2.PERVASINESS OF TECHNOLOGY Pervasive computing is a circumstance,

that’s how one can describe it. It is the union of wireless technology and

electronics and even internet is included. The pervasive computing it is also called

as omnipresent computing, the word omnipresent it means exits.

If technology users carefully consider both the advantages and shortcomings of technology use, they are more likely to maximize the gains and minimize the losses.

Page 10: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

EXAMPLES OF PERVASINESS TECHNOLOGY

Page 11: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In our daily lives, the day to day activities that one must accomplish, when one tends to look at it we need technology to accomplish those duties.

Mobile phones are a pervasive platform for opportunistic sensing of behaviours and opinions. People would rather use technology rather than using anything else because it make s things more easier and achievable than doing it any other

way.

Page 12: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In the educational context we need to understand that things are changing, learners are more knowledgeable and as teachers its our duty as in teachers to assist especially in classroom level

When students read from the screen instead of from a hard copy of a book, what are the gains and losses? What about when they take classes online instead of face to face? Or when they use Internet resources instead of those from the library?

3.EDUCATION FOR ALL GOALS Education is very important and must be

seen as one of crucial aspects that a country can invest in.

In order to assuage and make the living conditions of the society better we need to invest in education and see it as a long term aspect.

In the society that we inhibit we know that there are inequalities amongst us, and that not all of us can be equal in order to address the issue of inequalities education is the only tool that can combat it.

Page 14: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Poor society Middle class society

The only tool that we can use to address the inequalities is education. Learning to strive.

Page 15: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Education validates people’s self-worth that they actually mean something to society and that they are someone

It enables people to take charge of their own destinies and be the driver of their own personal life instead of just being an observer in their own lives.

It gives people the confidence of taking care of their own families and being a valuable member among the community, being responsible and also taking charge of their own responsibilities

Aspects that the government need to be developed:

Early childhood development is very important this

means that the development of the child’s emotional, physical, cognitive, sensory and social from birth and school going age.

Early childhood development means teaching or children having access to centres where they can be taught the necessary skills needed.

Early childhood development should not only concentrate on primary education but learners should be developed an early age.

Providing a healthy feeding scheme for school children.

Presently the government introduced feeding scheme in each and every public school were learners are offered lunch to eat, by doing so the government is eradicating child under-nutrition, so that learners can have proper balanced diet.

BEFORE AFTER

Better learning and teaching can be achieved with a child having a full stomach.

SCHOOLING

Teachers play a very crucial role in the education system of South Africa and the biggest challenge that we are currently faced with as a country is that, the are many teachers who are in the profession but do not possess the qualifications that is needed for the profession.

That is why the government needs take initiative in order to develop us, the teachers of the country; especially in the field of Mathematics and Science. From the saber-tooth curriculum we learned that society needs to learn something that is related to the current surrounding they are living, the curriculum must cater for their needs.

Page 25: TECHNOLOGY INTO TEACHER TRAINING AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
