Mill scale, rust and old coatings should be removed completely by mechanical or chemical means. A result comparable to the standard grade of cleanliness SA 2 ½ (DIN 55928) should be aimed for. Application: Combine both components in the correct mixing ratio and mix thoroughly. a) Brush or roller: Apply coating undiluted as far as possible. b) High-pressure spraying: Dilute coating with EP Thinner 0050 to approx. 20 s / DIN 4 mm and apply with a 1.8-mm nozzle at 3.5 - 4 bar pressure. c) Airless / Airmix method: Apply coating undiluted or apply slightly diluted with EP Thinner 0050. The pressure should be approx. 120 bar and a 0.013" nozzle should be used. Application conditions: Object and ambient temperature should be at least 15° C. The relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The optimum application temperature is between 20° and 30° C. EP Zinc Dust Primer 2058

Technical Data Sheet Drying: Approximate values, determined at 20° C and approx. 40 µm dry coat; deviating values lead to changed drying properties: dust-dry: approx. 45 min. tack-free: approx. 2 hrs overcoatable: after overnight air drying At lower temperatures, a longer drying time should be allowed for. Forced drying: Approximate values, determined at 60° C object temperature approx. and approx. 40 µm dry coat; deviating values lead to changed drying properties: tack-free: approx. 60 min. overcoatable: after cooling Cleaning the equipment: Clean with RICKERT EP Thinner 0050 immediately after use.
