IMPORTANT, notes on tread belt lubrication We would like to reminder you again that the tread belts on all Run and Jog Excite and Run and Jog NOW models should not be lubricated, as this will worsen the performance and reliability of the machine. The only machines on which the tread belt should be lubricated are the 110VAC RUN EXCITE models not equipped with the "low friction" tread belt, running deck and rollers, which have been adopted on these machines starting from the serial numbers:

D448UL08000169 D448UD08000324

D449UD08000028 D449UL09000001

A "Low Friction" kit, comprising the running deck, tread belt and rollers, is available which can be installed on 110VAC machines produced before the above serial numbers, to reduce their power consumption. The order code for this kit is R0005797AA. Once this kit has been installed on the machine, the tread belt should no longer be lubricated.

Rear fixing of running deck To facilitate the procedure for fixing the running deck, some changes have been made to the components used, in particular by eliminating the lock washer (ref. 17) inserted between the deck and the spacer (ref. 1), which has itself also been modified by slightly contouring the side in contact with the deck so that it fits inside the corresponding hole, thereby facilitating the fixing operation.

The new spacer, illustrated below, is interchangeable with the preceding one after removing the lock washer, and has order code 0G001172AA-GG.

Arm lever – leg lever connecting straps To improve the reliability of the straps, which are subject to mechanical stress during exercise especially at the points where they are crimped (see figure below), as a result of contact between the strap and the metal surface of the bushings, the shape of the end portion of the strap has been modified.

The new straps are fully interchangeable with the old ones. The codes are:

CODE DESCRIPTION R0006676AB Long strap R0006677AB Short strap

Coupling of bottle-holder guard To improve the coupling of the bottle-holder guard with the side guards and facilitate its assembly, the component has been modified by adding an inner rib on the front, as shown in the figure below, designed to fit into the special slot provided on the frame, also shown in the figure below.

This modification makes it possible to easily center the frame during assembly without having to use spacers. However implementing the modification requires using both the new guard 0C001796AC-GG and the new version of the frame 0D003750AC-# (replace the “#” character with the desired color suffix) provided with a slot. The frame is fully interchangeable with the previous version. From now on, only the new version of the guard will be supplied, which requires for its assembly an updated frame, installed on production machines starting from the following SN:

DAF53L10000001 DAF54L10000001

DAF73L09001442 DAF74L09000604 DAF73C09000838

Fro machines provided with the old frame without a slot, the rib on the guard should be removed using a cutter, taking care not to damage the exterior of the guard.

"Long" strap length adjustment To facilitate the operation for adjusting the length of the "long" strap, a modification has been made to the pulley on the primary shaft, which allows the strap length to be adjusted without removing the magnet assembly from the frame.

As can be seen above, the pulley X is now provided 2 new slots Y, to be used for clamping the pulley while adjusting the strap length, counteracting the effect of the magnets. The procedure is explained step by step in the machine service manual. The primary shaft kit cod. R0006621AA, which will from now on be supplied with this new pulley, is fully interchangeable with the preceding version.

Product upgrades: Selection Update All the machines of the Selection line have undergone a series of modifications and improvements, as part of a general updating of the products. These changes include new technical-mechanical functional solutions as well as aesthetic enhancements, with varying degrees of impact, and have been introduced gradually without any sharp demarcation point between the old and new versions. The product codes of the machines have not changed as a result of these updates, however the SN of the first machines produced which implement the full set of changes, including the new frame--chosen as the element marking the transition from one version to the next--are listed in the table below:

Rotary Calf / Leg Curl / Leg Extension: Seat release problems

Only for Selection Update. To prevent the unexpected release of the seat, which would sometimes happen, especially under high weight loads, a modification has been made to the selector plate mounted on the frame and indicated in the figure below, changing its material from plastic to stainless steel.

The new selector plate is fully interchangeable with the preceding one and can be ordered with code R0006703AA, which also includes the spacers needed for assembling it. Correct assembly of the kit also requires using the two washers (ref.1) which have code 0Z322. The first machines produced with this modification have SN: Rotary Calf M91510100063 Leg Curl M99010100268 Leg Extension M99110100309

Lat Machine: Failure of roller holder frame

Only for Selection Update. Due to a manufacturing defect, the roller holder frame indicated in the figure below has in some cases been susceptible to weld failure, causing the upper part with the rollers and the lower part which screws onto the seat adjustment tubing to become detached.

The updated and correct version of the frame, fully interchangeable with the preceding one, has order code 0D003988AD-#, where the “#” must be replaced by the desired color suffix.

New seat adjustment solution To facilitate assembly and further increase the reliability of the vertical seat position adjustment for the machines of this line, the solution illustrated below has been introduced which uses a pin ref. 1 with threaded end toward the tie-rod, and a nut ref. 2 for clamping it onto the tie-rod itself. The previous solution used a screw, in place of the nut, that locked onto the pin.

The new solution is interchangeable with the preceding one, provided both the new components indicated in the figure are used, and is available with the following order codes:

PG03- PG04: Seat adjusting problems

To solve the seat adjustment problem on the above benches, caused by the adjustment mechanism failing to engage, a modification has been made to the shape of the component indicated in the figure below.

The code for ordering the new component, which is fully interchangeable with the preceding one, is 0N000962AD. This solution has been adopted starting from the machine with SN: PG0310000001 PG0410000101

MG15: Breakage of lever return spring (2)

This problem, already dealt with in the previous Newsletter, has been definitively resolved by modifying the lever in the area where spring attachment pin is fixed, to improve its alignment. The first machine produced that incorporates this solution has SN MG15001000089.

Damage to flywheel shaft bearings To avoid damage to the bearings on the flywheel assembly, resulting from friction with the adjoining spacers during exercise, a modification has been made to the spacers. In particular, the surface of the spacers, ref. 1-2 in the figure below, in contact with the bearings ref. 3, has been contoured so that they only press against the inner thrust block of the bearing during clamping of the assembly, as shown in the cross-sectional view below.

The codes of the 2 spacers modified as describe above, which are fully interchangeable with the preceding ones, are:

New backing panel spacers The clear plastic spacers placed between the backing panel bars and the front panels of the machine, shown in the figure below, are now made from a new material that affords the following advantages:

1. Reduced brittleness and hence less susceptibility to cracking when the screws are locked down during installation or assembly.

2. Reduced tendency of the plastic to yellow with age, as a result of exposure to sunlight.

The new spacer, completely interchangeable with the previous one, has order code 0G001064AB-K,

New torsion bar assembly solution The fixing method for the torsion bars on the machine has been slightly modified to improve their reliability and ease of assembly. The new solution includes some modified components which must all be adopted together to permit assembly, and namely the bars ref. 5, the pins ref. 15 and the locking pins ref. 16.

This modification has been introduced starting from the following serial numbers: MD05110000162 (Heritage model) MD05210000122 (Vision model) MD05310000012 (Leather model) For machines produced prior to the above SN, the old bars are no longer available and—in case of need--will have to be replaced with the new bars and their corresponding pins, whereas the preceding versions of the pins continue to be available.
