The Museum of History and Holocaust Education, under the direction of Dr. Catherine Lewis, presents public programs and exhibitions focused on World War II and the Holocaust in an effort to promote education and dialogue about the past and its significance today. Programs are funded in part by The Marcus Foundation. A member of the 35-unit University System of Georgia (USG), Kennesaw State University (KSU) is a comprehensive, residential institution with a growing student population exceeding 20,000 from 142 countries. The third-largest university in the USG network, KSU offers 44 Bachelor’s degrees, 16 master’s degrees, a new Ed.D., and a Doctorate in Business Administration. The foundation for all undergraduate majors is a comprehensive and coherent general education program that promotes internationalized and connected learning in the liberal arts tradition. • Learn INNOVATIVE AND INTERACTIVE ways to study, analyze, and present the Holocaust and World War II. • VISIT FOUR LOCATIONS to meet with award-winning scholars, educators, and survivors of the Holocaust.

• RECEIVE CLASSROOM MATERIALS including: teacher’s manual on WWII; books on the era; and a curriculum notebook containing Power Point presentations; reproductions of letters, manuscripts, and photographs; sample lesson plans; annotated bibliographies; and handouts in digital format. • Have access to a WELL-STOCKED RESOURCE LIBRARY on WWII and the Holocaust at the KSU Center. • Engage in an INTERACTIVE FOCUS GROUP of high school students to test and discuss ideas and pedagogy.

Program Overview The Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) at Kennesaw State University now offers a Summer Institute on World War II and the Holocaust to Georgia history and social studies teachers. Providing an innovative program that incorporates in-depth discussion; lectures and tours with premiere researchers in the field; and several cutting edge multimedia explorations of the subject area, the four-day program presents teachers with the opportunity to strengthen their expertise in this important era. The Teacher Institute is FREE to all teachers, offers TWO PROFESSIONAL LEARNING UNITS (PLUS), and will help educators interested in meeting the GEORGIA PERFORMANCE STANDARDS, including: • SSUSH10 • SSWH17-SSWH19 • QCCWH18 • QCCWH23
