General Information:• Blender was an American music magazine that billed

itself as "the ultimate guide to music and more". It was also known for sometimes steamy pictorials of celebrities. It compiled lists of albums, artists, and songs, including both “best of” list and "worst of" lists. In each issue, there was a review of an artist's entire discography, with each album being analyzed in turn. The target audience of this magazine is female teenagers and young adults aged between 16 and 20. The genre of this magazine is RnB/ Hip Hop and this is shown with the young female artists on the front cover of the magazines.

Ideas For My Music Magazine

Magazine names:

•BEATZ

•MIXER

•REWIND

•RAVE

•ARCADE

I have thought of these names for my magazine because they are shot and simple, catchy and suitable for the target audience. It also represents music and young youth.

Colour scheme ideas:

•Red and white

•Blue and purple

•White and orange

•Black and orange

I have chosen these few ideas for my colour scheme because its simple and suggests that the magazine isn’t a serious genre. Its for a young audience therefore the magazine will look attractive and bright in order for it to be attractive.

The genre of my magazine is going to be RnB and Hip Hop. This is because it’s the type of music I like and it is also a popular genre for young people therefore it would attract my target audience. A genre similar to my magazine is Top of the pops magazine, Blender and Vibe. These magazines all have a similar target audience and genre.

The contents page for my magazine will be set out in the rule of thirds with my masthead and a consistent house style.

I want to make my double spread page article suitable and appropriate for the target audience. The article will be about young people as that who this magazine is aimed at, this will also help connect with the reader and make it informal and direct.
