Film Pitch

The title of my film is ‘The Unrevealed’. The reason I chose this to be the title of my film was because it’s a horror. This means that the film will include frightening scenes, with the aim to scare the audience. The title doesn’t give no insight of upcoming events or scenes that might occur later in the film due to the title not revealing much, giving the audience a fright when unexpected. The reason I named my film ‘The Unrevealed’ was also because there is unknown things going on in the home.

The director of my film is Tim Burton, along with the producer Michael Bay. Both the producer and director of my film are well known for the horror genre. For example, Quija.

The movie house of my film is Blumhouse Productions. Blumhouse Productions is a horror movie production company. It is well known from films such as Insidious, Paranormal Activity, Quija and many more films of the horror genre.

PlotThe plot of the film is about two people who fall in love and decide to move in together. The couple move into the females sisters home until they can get a house nearby of their own, living normal lives. The couples begin to witness supernatural presence in their temporary home and face frightening events and difficulties.

They all have normal teenager characteristics which results in them coming across as normal. These actors have also been used in other horror films.

SettingThe setting of my film will be inside an unusual family home. The house contains of a chandelier in the hallway which is a typical convention of horror and implies that the film is mixing old and new horror conventions. The bedroom is often used as a setting where the supernatural events occur. Usually, the bedroom is associated with comfort and safety however, the trailer takes this feeling away as comfort is replaced with feeling uneasy and disturbed. This location also works well because things like ghosts are often known to be seen in bedrooms at night.

Colours and fonts On my film posters, they will include a colour palette of black, white and dark red. Textual analysis has shown that dark and dull colours are often used on horror films. I will also use fonts that tie in with the rest of the poster. These colours can create a daunting and scary effect. These colours also create darkness which is often associated with horror films.

Genre Conventions My film will meet the weapon convention of the horror genre. This is due to the fact that when the supernatural presence occur and the posession, a killing takes place near the end with a knife. This also fits with the convention of death. My film will also meet the violence and frightening convention of a horror film. This is because there will be violent scenes and danger within the film.My film will meet the blood convention of a typical horror film. This is when Agnes stabs the couple in the home and tries to harm them. This is where the blood convention comes in.It will also meet the running convention. This Is because the couple run from supernatural presence in the home and Agnes trying to harm them.

Distribution From market research, I have found that my target research enjoy watching films in the cinema and on the internet. Therefore, I will make sure that my film is able to watch in cinema and on sites like Netflix etc. on the internet. I will also ensure that its accessible on the television in order to meet the needs of all my target audience.
