INTRODUCTION Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) has organized the media exposure visit for Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited (TMFB) on 21 st November, 2013 in Karachi. The media for the activity includes The News, The Nation, Daily Times, Business Recorder and Ausaf. As part of our Communications and Public Relations Strategy, we have been arranging media visits for our members. So far, these visits have been arranged for Akhuwat, Wasil Foundation (formerly known as CWCD), SAFWCO, Kashf MFB, Sungi, Khushhali Bank and Kashf Foundation. All the above mentioned visits resulted in print and/or electronic media coverage of these organizations. The purpose of the activity is to highlight the positive work being carried out by our members and to share microfinance success stories with journalists. A media exposure visit also gives the host MFP the opportunity to start building independent relationships with reporters. TAMEER’s PROFILE
Tameer Microfinance Bank Limited (TMFB) is a majority (51%) owned subsidiary of
Telenor Pakistan. It is a private commercial Microfinance bank licensed by the State
Bank of Pakistan under the Microfinance Institutions Ordinance 2001.
Tameer Microfinance Bank (TMFB) distinguishes itself from other Microfinance Banks
by being one of the first nation-wide, private sectors, non-NGO transformed,
commercially sustainable micro-finance institutions in Pakistan.
Tameer Microfinance Bank (TMFB) aims to provide dedicated services to the
economically active poor and to be demand driven, client centered and responsive to
the special needs of our customers. Serving low-income, salaried, self-employed and
micro entrepreneurs men and women with a range of financial products designed to
allow them to grow their businesses and produce significant economic multiplier
effects throughout local economies is our forte.
In December 2008, Telenor and Tameer Bank joined hands to launch Pakistan’s first
Branchless Banking Service. In this joint venture, the two created a new financial
