Alex Hester Scene analysis Film: Taken Genre: action, thriller Shots: it starts with a medium-close up on Kim showing that she is casually walking around with nothing wrong at this point. Kim answers the phone and we get a long shot zooming into a medium close up of Liam Neeson as he gets up showing his excitement of his daughter answering the call, the zoom helps show the excitement with fast fluid movements The next scene is of Kim rushing around the hotel at a medium close up this shows her face focusing on talking with her father (Liam Neeson) however her body language shows that she wants to get out of the phone call as soon as possible. This would make the viewer feel sorry for the father. A scene now is a medium close up highlighting Kim’s face to show how shocked she is to see her best friend being kidnaped in front of her and it would helpthe viewer realize how serious the events that occurring are. A long shot shows Amanda being taken and struggling to get away from her kidnappers also in the background you can hear Kim exhaling and becoming terrified as to what might happen to her. This could cause some viewers to become greatly enthralled in the scene however it could cause great distress to others. Also the extreme long shot shows that kim is useless and cannot possibly help Amanda.
