Introduction

As a definition Architectural Drawing is all about technical drawing of building that fall within the definition of architecture. Life is all about making things User-Friendly. Hence making things user friendly is a major aspect dealing with Architectural design. Any construction needs a perfect design which can explain the construction with reasoning. This event Arch-Craft makes its approach towards the User-Friendly, innovative and practical approach of the planning and designing constructions of daily use. Here participants are given a problem statement and are encouraged to provide a novel solution to the given problem. Through this event, which attracts participation from colleges all over India, students are given a platform to bring out the true architect within them by presenting their own ideas on how to solve some of the leading challenges in today’s world.

Event Details• Event will be happening in two stages.• In the first stage, we‘ll be posting a problem

statement by 20th of July, 2012 in the Techniche website.

• The corresponding response should be posted to the email address [email protected] with the subject Arch-Craft: Round-1 as an attachment with the name, e-mail, contact number, institute name of every member as body. Participants should also register on Techniche website before mailing the abstract.

• The last date for submission is 5th August, 2012 and any registered entry that exceeds the deadline will be disqualified.

• The best among them will be screened out using a good judging criteria. Thus the first stage acts as a screening round for the forth coming task.

Event Details• The short listed teams after the screening round

will be displayed on TECHNICHE website by 14th of August, 2012.

• In the second round, we’ll be asking to make your own plan of any typical structure of our choice. The structure chosen for Round 2 will be displayed on Techniche website by 17th of August

• The particular plan must be made using AutoCAD or any other software and mailed to [email protected] with the subject Arch-Craft: Final Round as an attachment with the name, e-mail, contact number, institute name of every member as body by 24th of August.

• The winner details will be displayed on Techniche website by 30th of August

Problem Statement STAGE 1• Completing an incomplete plan, a plan meant to be

a masterpiece, for the world to see it in all its glory, and so it is up to you to bring life to it. We‘ll be posting a problem statement by 20th of July, 2012

  STAGE 2• Make your own plan of any typical structure of our

choice. As an architect design a plan and utilize the space in a best possible way.The structure chosen for Round 2 will be displayed on Techniche website by 17th of August.

Problem Statement Format of Plan to be Submitted:• A write-up describing the plan submitted not

exceeding 500 words in pdf format should be attached along the Plan. Please do not send any other format.

• The write -up should be describing why you think the corresponding plan is the preferable one.

• Abstract should be in Times New Roman, font 12, Black, single spacing.

• Maximum word limit : 500 words

Specifications• TEAM SPECIFICATIONS:

A team must consist of a maximum of 3 members. Student from different educational institutions and Organizations can form a team.  

• EVENT SPECIFICATIONS: The event comprises of two rounds: Round-1 Final round.

General Rules• The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy

competition. • Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team

indulging in cheating by any means. • Any team that doesn’t send their abstract for the

final round in time will not be considered.

• The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit.

• In case of any discrepancy, organisers’ decision shall be considered final and binding on all. We reserve the right to change any of the rules stated above as we see fit. Any such changes will be suitably highlighted.
