FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Last Thursday, the first of our 50th anniversary community meetings was held. It was great to see a number of people previously involved with the school attend. Our next meeting will be held next Thursday, 5 March in the Braddy Community Room at 6.00 pm to confirm responsibilities and look at the activities for the celebration. If you are able to attend, we would love to see you! Today, our swim team competed at the Goulburn/Crookwell District PSSA carnival which was expertly convened by Mrs McCormack and Mrs Patatoukos on behalf of the PSSA. Congratulations to all competitors who attended. More about this next week. Our executive team is currently working on our submission for the external validation process which will happen later in the term. The process involves a panel of two principals, external to the school, who look at our submission and then affirm the judgements we have made against 14 elements. Every school will now undergo this process every four years before the development of their new school plan. I look forward to sharing our accomplishments with you after the process is complete. Unfortunately for the school, Mrs Hayes will be leaving us at the end of the week to take up a position with the Goulburn Mulwaree Library. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Hayes for her service to the students of our school. She has been an outstanding teacher and colleague and the library has been an outstanding learning space under her librarianship. We all wish her well in her new position. Mrs Taylor will take over the librarian role in 2020 and I am currently in the process of backfilling her position. Finally, there are still a large number of students arriving well before there is supervision at 8.45 am. Please ensure that your child does not arrive at school before this time.

MIGHTY PLAYWRIGHTS PROGRAM
Every child has a story worth telling, a voice worth hearing, and creativity worth exposing. The Mighty Playwrights project is about inspiring young people to discover the power of their own
thoughts and voices through storytelling and the power of the imagination, and about teaching adults that children have incredible value in society and their voices should be heard and taken seriously.
11 young writers aged 10-12 years have been working tirelessly at Goulburn Mulwaree Library for the
last 6 months to develop and write short plays. Nominated by their schools, and through mentor relationships with professional writers, illustrators, actors, and musicians, our Mighty Playwrights have created some amazing stories about issues that are important to them, in their own words and with their
own individual style.
Come along and see their stories being brought to life on stage at our special gala performance at Goulburn’s Lieder Theatre as part of Goulburn Mulwaree Library’s BookFest Goulburn
Reader Writer Festival.
The Mighty Playwrights Project is being run by Goulburn Mulwaree Library, with assistance from the
Australian Government through the Department of Communications and the Arts’ Festivals
Australia program.
