Notes

1. Use of weld deposition requires a minimum pipe wall thickness and control of welding parameters to prevent burn thru. This generally prevents use of this technique in pipes with external metal loss >80% wall thickness except in heavy wall pipelines. At this time we do not recommend use of this technique for wall < 0.181”.

2. Before taking up any repair in bends and fittings NRPL/ HO may be consulted

3. Special techniques utilizing multiple overlapping sleeves are required for bends.

4. A hardenable incompressible filler shall be used to fill the annular space between the dent and the sleeve.

5. Mechanical damage in a dent must be removed by grinding prior to installation of the sleeve.

6. Only certain types of composite repairs (clock spring) when used with an incompressible filler are adequate for the repair of dents and such repairs must show by reliable engineering tests and analysis to permanently restore the serviceability of the line pipe.

7. Conservative industry practice is to limit the use of Type A (epoxy sleeve) and composite sleeves (clock spring) to external metal loss <= 80% of nominal wall. For the case of external metal loss >80%, at this time, we do not recommend use of epoxy sleeve for repair of internal corrosion .

8. Other repair methods may be used provided they are based on sound engineering practice.

9. Cracks that are not leaking can be hot tapped to remove the crack.

10. If entire dent can be removed.

11. Arc burns and girth weld flaws can be repaired by grinding out the defect and/ or Type A (epoxy sleeve) or Type B (welded sleeve) sleeves as long as the repairs are based on sound engineering practice.

In consideration of the sum of Rupee 1/- (Rupee one) only paid to me/us by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., by

adjustment in the price of Tender Documents, I/We further undertake to keep my/our this tender offer open

for a period of not less than 4 (four) months from the scheduled date of opening of Tenders as specified in

the General Instructions to Tenderer forming part of the Tender Documents.

I/We have annexed to this Bid the following documents:

(i) Schedule of Rates in the prescribed Form.

(ii) Original Power of Attorney or other proof of authority of the person who has signed the Tender

OR copy of Power of Attorney or other authority duly certified by a Gazetted Officer or a Notary

Public in proof of authority of the person who has signed the Tender.

I/We hereby undertake that the statements made herein/information given in the Annexures referred to

above are true in all respects and that in the event of any such statement or information being found to be

incorrect in any particular, the same may be construed to be a misrepresentation entitling Indian Oil

Corporation Ltd. to avoid any resultant contract.

I/We further undertake as and when called upon by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. to produce, for its inspection,

original(s) of the document(s) of which copies have been annexed hereto.
