McLeod Farms for
Strawberries and Vegetables
McLeod Farms, family owned
and operated since 1916, is one of the
largest peach growers in the south-
east. They also offer the sweetest
seasonal strawberries, blackberries
and vegetables in the south. The
adults and senior adults will visit the
farm on May 15. The bus will depart
at 9:00. The group will visit their
museum and gift shop as well as their
market. They are located in McBee,
S.C., which is above Camden.
Our lunch will be at their café.
Don’t miss this trip to the 650 acre
McLeod Farm. We
will be given a tour
also. Join us for a day
of fun.

Baby and Child Dedication
Mother’s Day Sunday, May 13th
If you would like to have your
child dedicated please call the church
office and let us know. We will have a
dedication service in June on Father’s
Day as well.
Student Ministry News
The end is in sight. If you are like me you can see the finish line
that marks the end of the school year and it can’t get here soon enough. I
want to encourage you not to look too far ahead and to finish this year
strong. The summer will be here soon enough and as usual we have a lot
planned for this summer, more about that in minute.
First things first, I want to invite you to join us for our Student
Ministry Sunday on May 20th. This is a day where our Students will lead
us in worship. They always do a great job and I hope you will be here as we share with
the church what God has been doing in our Student Ministry.
Our big event for this summer will be Community Changers the week of June 24-
29. The cost for the week is $25 per a student. If you are not familiar with Community
Changers this is our missions emphasis week. We partner with the student groups from
Faith and Sardis to do several community service projects. Our purpose for the week is to
share the love of Christ in our community by meeting physical needs. We will again be
hosting Community Changers this year. There are several areas where we need adults to
help with this week ranging from leading a project to an overnight chaperone to helping
serve our meals. If you have any time during the week and you would like to help us
please let me know.
The deadline has passed for SeeSalt registration and we did not have enough inter-
est in the week for us to be able to go. Since we will not be going to summer camp we are
working on some alternative plans for the summer. We are looking at a couple of day
trips. I will be announcing the details on Wednesday nights so you will have to come to
find out what we are doing.
Finally I want to recognize all of our upcoming graduates. We have a great group
of students that will be graduating this year: Brenton Lucas, Thomas Jumper, Elizabeth
Norris, Haley Mack, and Jessica Zeigler. As a group these students have many great ac-
complishments both in school and in the community. I can’t tell you what a great influ-
ence they have had on our student ministry as well. They have been instrumental in mak-
ing our student ministry what it is today. I hope you will join us in recognizing these stu-
dents on May 27th during our Graduate Recognition Service.
In Christ,
John Harmon

MoMA’s
Please come join us for Moma’s (Mothers of Many Ages) group. We are a group of moma’s that meet the first Thursday morning of every month (Sept. to May) from 9:00am - 11:00pm at the Swansea First Baptist Church., for some moma time, fellowship and fun. Child care is available for newborn to preschool if needed. It does not matter if you are a new mama or a veteran mama, we would love to see and meet you. We will have light refreshments and lots of fellowship. So please join us and bring a friend.
For more information, please call Jan Marie Booth @ 568-3881 or Char-lyse McCarson @ 210-9661. Mark you calendar, our next meeting will be May 3rd @ 9:00 am.
A special thanks to our MoMA’s helpers. Without you we could not provide this ministry. Thanks again.
Jan Marie
Meredith Moments I want to thank the choir members for making the
cantata a complete success! The choir will be continu-
ing to practice new material. Therefore, choir mem-
bers need to make every effort to make practices on
Wednesday nights at 8pm. If you are interested in
joining the choir, now is the time! Come and join us!
The children’s choir had its final practice this past
Wednesday night. I appreciate all of the parents and
children for making this year a productive and wonderful experience. We will
resume children’s choir practice next fall, along with the return of the Wednes-
day night meals. Between now and then, enjoy your summer, while I find some
new and exciting music to worship to!
The youth at Swansea First Baptist Church will GIVE GOD THE GLORY with every-
thing we do; and we will have FUN while GROWING TOGETHER, MEETING OTH-
ERS NEEDS, and SPREADING THE WORD.
