While cereal crops across southern cropping regions benefited from an intense low-pressure pattern during July–October, AEGIC’s Dr David Stephens explains the final El Nino Prediction Index (EPI) for 2013 was the seventh lowest since 1950 meaning there is a greater than 50% chance of a moderate strength El Nino developing during 2014.
