NOTE 2: As exceptions, measurements with a level up to the applicable requirements defined in Table 6.6.3.1-2 are permitted for each assigned E-UTRA carrier used in the measurement due to 2nd, 3rd, 4th [or 5th] harmonic spurious emissions. An exception is allowed if there is at least one individual RB within the transmission bandwidth (see Figure 5.6-1) for which the 2nd, 3rd or 4th harmonic totally or partially overlaps the measurement bandwidth (MBW).

NOTE 15: These requirements also apply for the frequency ranges that are less than ∆fOOB (MHz) in Table 6.6.3.1-1 and Table 6.6.3.1A-1 from the edge of the channel bandwidth.

•Digital Book 7, part A• Section 9.14.2.1

‘Interference from LTE Signals’

•“The exact mechanism for this is not yet understood, butit is thought that it may be caused by disturbances to thereceiver's automatic gain control (AGC) circuitryresulting from the time-varying LTE signal . Equally, ithas been seen that some well-designed receivers arevirtually immune to the differences between the constantpower signals and the time-varying signals.

•To minimise the risk of disturbance to televisionreception, it is very important therefore that receiverdesigners ensure that their implementations areunaffected by such time-varying LTE signals. The restof this section first describes the interferenceenvironment, and then some preliminary tests.

•Note that these tests are considered preliminary atthis stage, so it may be considered necessary to changethem in the near future. For the avoidance of doubt, these LTE protection ratios are the values that will beused for testing new receivers , but it should beremembered that some older receivers alreadydeployed may have significantly worse performance inthis respect .”
