My Dear Sister Columbiettes, As I sit here, I cannot believe that my first year as president is just about over. I am proud to say that I believe
we had a successful year! In addition to continuing to build a great relationship with our Brother Knights, we have held two successful Major Degrees adding 84 women to our ranks! They can now hold office and sponsor a candidate. With that being said I must say congratulations to Suffolk County Columbiettes for taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place in Membership at the NYS Columbiettes 60th Anniversary Convention. The winners are as follows: 1st Place - Our Lady of the Rosary; 2nd Place - Patchogue; 3rd Place - J.V. Kavanaugh; and 4th Place - Farmingdale! Great job ladies! Be proud to be a Suffolk Columbiette!
I would like to announce the Slate of Officers for the 2014-2015 Columbian year who were nominated at our May
meeting: Amelia Joseph – President Anne Marie Callahan – Vice President Elaine Addie – Secretary Colleen Wyman – Financial Secretary Jerry Berlenbach – Treasurer Pat Tariol – Sentinel Mary Lundin – Past President (automatic) All Major Degree Columbiettes are eligible to run for any Office from the floor at the election in June. Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an
apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his
life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up
his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we
may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant
Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor
I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father.
