FASHION DESIGN

The nautical prints and the Hamptons, NY life style, inspired me. I incorporated this inspiration to design a spring/ summer collection, which shows different hues of fun light colors between yellow and white strips, blue and white strips, sunset orange.

We were giving a task to pull inspiration from a designer, my inspiration in this collection came from the Designer Gareth Pugh 2012 spring collection. I loved how structured and futuristic his garments are in his collection. I came to the conclusion that I would sketch a collection on the future and having Pugh’s design aesthetic in mind.

The sea and the vibrant colors under the ocean inspired me from jellyfish to the red coral in the deep blue sea.The 16-swim wear collection is very sexy and risk taking to pull off. My customer is a confident woman who likes to look good on the beach.

I was instructed to come up with a theme to design a store front. I was inspired by star wars and the galoxy. I came up with the concept to create a very spooky and space like atmosphere. The illusion of this massive green space to give it a feel of being in space.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Fragrance is daring, sexy, and truly memorable according to the rebel queen. The sexy yet sophisticated Island girl came up with this unforgettable fragrance to last a lifetime. The plump fruits, red berries, plum and juicy, ripe peaches, make a delicious first impression. This seductive scent is a must have to grab and go on the night out on the town.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING

As a group we were giving a topic “Globalization”. We realized globalization means to connect in many ways in life and that the world connects and people connect everyday. We initially came up with the idea to tie strings around thumbnails to create a very abstract look. We decided to use tacks instead and use the map of the world for inspiration.

STORE DESIGN

As a group we were collectively instructed to create and design a retail store, my classmate and I decided that we would create a luxury shoe store in California. By creating a beautiful clean and upscale atmosphere for our customer. You will be able to get the feel our customer and how the store looks visually.

“O” is a high end shoe retailer that was established in July of 2012. Located in Beverly Hills, California, “O” carries a large assortment of designer shoes as well as its own line exclusive to its store. There is currently only one location being that it is a new store. Their corporate headquarters are located in Beverly Center, California where they are able to keep up with the fashions of its high paced community. “O” had limited employees considering it is a fairly small location. “O” demonstrates a unique aesthetic in which it creates a very futuristic yet feminine vibe. “O” sells the footwear of the future. They cater to the woman who strives to be different in an environment where money is not an issue. With “O” just starting out, it merely sells shoes and accessories at this point. “O’s” merchandise has a price point of $800 and up. Come visit our location at 8500 Beverly Boulevard to enjoy our refreshment lounge while you shop the newest fashions.
