A couple of weeks ago our parish put out a call for new adorers to join our Eucharistic Adoration program.
And the call was answered: we added 37 adorers to our number! I am so grateful for their willingness to be part of
the "adoration family" for our parish, and so grateful for the numbers. We re-started our Adoration Program back in
September after a six-month Covid hiatus, and the number of adorers was not surprisingly down, and so we needed
the boost to keep the Adoration Program up and strong. And we got that boost!
If you would like to join our parish's adoration family, you can contact us anytime in the parish office and get started.
This commitment to weekly prayer is so needed, not just by our parish from its members, but by any of us who need to give the
Lord God time in prayer to keep ourselves afloat in this often confused muddle of a world we live in right now.
When will your time come to join this wonderful spiritual exercise of prayer?

The weekend of February 5-7 will be the time frame for the annual "Vianney Discernment Weekend", a discernment
weekend for young men ages 16-30 who are considering a vocation to the priesthood. It is an opportunity to join others of like
mind at Maryvale in Valley City for prayer, discernment, and fraternity with fellow discerners. Fr. Metzger, the diocesan
Vocation Director, will be heading up this special weekend, and Bishop Folda will also be there for part of it. If there are any
young men in our parish who are interested in being part of this weekend, they should contact Fr. Metzger or register at
www.fargodiocese.org/vdw. The weekend is free, but pre-registration is required.
When I was Vocation Director (many years ago now), I hosted this weekend at Cardinal Muench Seminary while that
was still with us. It's a fun weekend for those who go, and for a young man called, could be the beginning of something very
special between him and the Lord God . . .

The Diocese of Fargo and our Catholic schools decided not to take part in the annual March for Life in
Washington, D.C., this past week, but will take part in a March for Life at the State Capitol grounds in Bismarck this
Friday, January 29 at 12:30 pm. All North Dakota Catholic high schools (which includes Shanley) are planning to
have some of their student body present at this event. Mass will be offered at several Bismarck parishes before the
march, and there will be a period of silence for the 62 million babies aborted in our country since 1973, when abortion was
legalized. Real Presence Radio will be airing the program live so that anyone who cannot attend the march in person can listen
and join in the event from wherever they are. Please pray for this event and the positive impact it will have on our diocese and our
youth in particular.

Stewardship Moment
“Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” - Mark 1:17 Jesus’ call to “Follow me” is a call to all Christians! The call is in the here and now, in our present circumstances, not when we think we are “ready” or have everything in order. Good stewardship of our God-given gifts means that things aren’t always going to go according to our schedule and that God has a much better plan in store for each of us.
Calling all 8th – 12th Graders! Join hundreds of Catholic teens at the Steubenville North Catholic Youth Conference – Rochester, MN on July 23-25 for a weekend filled with inspiring talks, music, Eucharist Adoration and fellowship. Registration for the conference is $425. The registration fee covers the conference, housing and transportation. Contact Sue in the parish office for more information, or if you are interested in attending.

This year’s Annual Knights of Columbus Blood Drive will now have the opportunity of 6 days to give. It will be held at Vitalant’s facility, formerly United Blood Services. The 2021 KC Blood Drive (6 days of giving) will begin Sunday, February 14 and go through Friday, February 19. About 30% of the blood supply goes to cancer patients. When you donate blood, you could be helping someone through their battle with cancer. Please consider rolling up your sleeve to help someone in need.
