Where do your strawberries come

from?In Whatcom County, 300 acres are devoted to growing strawberries. You can go to a u-pick farm

and pick some!

Lots of the strawberries you buy

in the grocery store are actually grown in California & Mexico.

Whatare food miles?

When strawberries come to you from that far, they have to travel on trucks, trains and planes before they make it to your table.

Think about how your food travels!

When you eat food that is grown near to where you live, it travels fewer “food miles” which

means saving energy!

How many locally grown foods can you find to eat this summer?
