IV. MOL Nagyon Balaton

MOL Nagyon Balaton program was launched 4 years ago. Its aim is still the same: we want to show the best face and the true values of the Lake Balaton to the whole country, together with the region's most exciting and prestigious events.This year MOL Nagyon Balaton extended the season, between May and September it collected the 25 most exciting and the most prestigious events of the Balaton region for the interested parties. The events lined up much more worldstars than in the previous years. The colorful offer of the Művészetek Völgye expanded with Morcheeba songs performed by Skye & Ross, at the Paloznaki Jazz Piknik - St. Germain, in Veszprém the Thievery Corporation and Jamie Cullum took the stage. In the capital city of the festivals, Zamárdi: Macklemore, Armin van Buuren gave concerts and at STRAND Festival: Hurts, Caro Emerald and Tom Odell.More than one million people attended the programs in 2016.

Introduction of Strand Festival

STRAND Festival – the rhythm of Balaton

A STRAND – Nagyon Zene Festival was first held in 2013 on the shore of Lake Balaton in Zamárdi. In the festival we can listen the prestigious international stars and lots of Hungarian pop stars. To the festival – the common big event of the Petőfi Radio and VOLT Production – the following performers arrived to Zamárdi: Tankcsapda, Quimby, and with an own day and a special program arriving Wellhello-Halott Pénz duo and a lot of other Hungarian performers.World stars also came to the festival: Caro Emerald, Hurts, Jamie Woon and Tom Odell spent the last weekend in Zamárdi with Asking Alexandria and Hollywood Undead. Between 24 and 27 of August 81.000 visitors attended the festival. Petőfi Radio and Petőfi TV gave broadcasting during the festival, and 77 concerts ( 415 237 minutes) were streamed on the official website of the festival and on the petofilive.hu website.

During the day, beside the music programs visitors could attend a lot of other different programs.At the Budapest 2024’s daily venue the visitors could paritcipate in interesting programs like: craft workshops, English quizzes, pillow fight, competitive games etc.

Demography

Two out of three visitors of the Strand Festival arrive from the countryside, and more than a half of the visitors are between 18-25 years old.

The majority of the visitors have a smartphone, and buy concerts ticket more than once a year.

Strand festival has less returning visitors, but those who came back next year saw developing trends – mainly in decoration.
