Clothes Moth Trap Russell IPM’s Clothes Moth Trap is a discreet and effective prebaited sticky trap that monitors and detects infestation at an early stage. It effectively traps the male species of the pale backed clothes moth, Monopis crocicapitella, and the webbing cloth moth, Tineola bisselliella, without the need for insecticides. EasyreadThis is a pitfall trap made up of plastic stations with preloaded glue inside the base. The traps come with a tube of food attractant that is non-toxic and pesticide free, making them safe to use around pets and children. Simply add the food attractant to the base on the inside of the trap, close the trap and place near cracks and crevices where they are most likely to be. The Easyread traps have a metal strip to prevent undetected entry into production lines that utilise metal detection equipment.

Indian Meal MothPlodia interpunctellaThe Indian Meal moth is siad to be the most common pest found in kitchens as they feed on food such as grain, cereal and flour. They do not live very long and are most active at night when their main purpose is to mate. This huge desire to mate makes pheromone traps extremely effective.

Warehouse Almond Moth Ephestia cautella

The Almond moth infests warehouses and is more common in Tropical warehouses. It infests an array of nuts, dried fruit, confectionary and cereal. It lays an average of 300 eggs and spends most of its life as larvae, living for just 7-10 days as an adult.

Mediterranean Flour Moth Ephestia KuehniellaThe Mediterranean Flour moth is roughly 2cm in length and larger than the Indian Meal moth. Present in factories, kitchens and pantries, it can typically be found in flour and other stored product goods. To spot this moth look for off-white larvae and clumped food due to the larvae’s silk thread particles.

Warehouse Cocoa Moth Ephestia ElutellaThe cocoa moth is a serious pest in stored products and the chocolate industry. The female lays a whopping 270 eggs. This moth can be very easily confused with the Mediterranean Flour moth and Russell IPM’s Safestore range allows you to pinpoint which moth you are dealing with through the selection of a pheromone.

Khapra Beetle Trogoderma granariumThe Khapra beetle is extremely destructive in stored grains and seeds, damaging between 30% and 70% of product. The beetle can survive without food for long periods and the first sign of infestation will be cast larval skins. Monitoring this beetle early is essential.

Biscuit Beetle Stegobium paniceumThe adult Biscuit beetle is 2-3mm in length and reddish brown in colour. The female will lay eggs in food such as cereals, pasta or chocolate (or cracks and crevices nearby). The larvae can get through packaging and spread to all dried goods and with the right conditions the Biscuit beetle will breed rapidly.

Confused Flour Beetle Tribolium confusum & Rust-Red Flour Beetle Tribolium castabeumThese 2 beetles are easily confused as both are 3-4mm in length and a similar colour. They can be identified based on the length of the antenna and amount of clubs on it. The Confused Flour beetle’s antenna are slightly longer. The adults are very active and females lay an average of 450 eggs. The larvae attack stored products such as pasta, grains, chocolate, nuts and many more.

Cigarette BeetleLasioderma serricorneThe adult beetle is 2-3mm in length, with a humped body and a head which is barely visible from above. The female lays around 100 eggs in stored products such as grains, cereals and as the name suggests, tobacco. Cigarette beetles can fly and are often found in places with dim light.

Warehouse Beetle Trogoderma Variable Ballion The Warehouse beetle is very active, can fly, and reproduces rapidly. The female lays around 90 eggs and these will hatch within a week and become destructive larvae. The larvae can be found feeding on meat, fish, grains, flour, spices and many more stored products.

The Varied Carpet Beetle Anthrenus verbasci

The varied carpet beetle is a household pest that damages carpets, furniture and clothing after laying eggs underneath carpets and in cupboards. The life cycle of the beetle varies from 2 months to 2 years during which time they lay hundreds of eggs causing rapid infestation.

Webbing Clothes Moth Tineola bisselliella

Webbing clothes moths are a major pest in clothing and textiles and their larvae damages items made from animal fur, wool, feathers and hides. The adult moth searches for a mate, reproduces and dies. Their larvae have the ability to turn the protein found in hair and wool into food and begin feeding until they are ready to spin a cocoon. Upon hatching the destructive cycle begins again.

TOBAGUARD is range of a wall-mounted traps, designed to effectively monitor populations of the pest Lasioderma serricorne and Ephestia spp. in storage areas susceptible to the Mill moth and the Warehouse moth larva. This includes: stored tobacco, dried fruit, grain storage, processing facilities and transportation facilities. The traps are made from craft board and feature a pressure-sensitive adhesive, covered by silicone release paper. The pheromone attractant gel that can be used with this type of trap is contained in a small tube.

Tobaguard LS/EE contains pheromones for both Lasioderma serricorne and Ephestia elutella, therefore reducing the number of traps which need to be monitored and maintained.

Tobaguard LS targets Lasioderma serricorne, the cigarette beetle which is the most serious pest on stored tobacco worldwide.

Tobaguard EE targets Ephestia elutella, the tobacco/cocoa moth. This pest causes serious damage to both commodities.
