SECOND COLLECTION IS FOR "R & R" TO HELP

WITH RENOVATIONS TO OUR PARISH CENTER Today's Second Collection is for the ongoing "Repair and Renovation" of our Church Buildings. The "R & R"

Collections will be helping us, in addition to the funds from the

Generations of Faith Campaign, to pay for the Renovation of

PARISH COUNCIL - CHANGE OF DATE

THURSDAY, JUNE 21ST AT 7:00PM

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) will meet this Thursday,

June 21st at 7:00pm in the Chapel. We will begin planning the

Parish Calendar for September through December. We ask that

all parish groups and societies be represented at the meeting

and that any requests for dates be submitted in writing to the

rectory or by email to [email protected], by this

ADULT SACRAMENTS Any Adult interested in receiving the Sacraments of Baptism,

Communion and/or Confirmation may register for the

“RCIA” (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) by coming to

the rectory office with your Birth Certificate. Classes will

begin during the first week of October. You can also call the

FLEA MARKET Our Flea Market will be held next Sunday, June 24th, 2018

(weather permitting) from 8:00am - 2:00pm. For more

LIGHTS OF INSPIRATION AND

"CAPTAIN MORALES / SR. PEGGY FORD"

SCHOLARSHIPS

The winners of the "Lights of Inspiration" Scholarships and the

Captain Morales / Sr. Peggy Ford Memorial Scholarship will

be notified this week. The wards will be announced and

presented at the 12pm Mass on Sunday, June 24th.

TRIP TO LANCASTER

Our trip to Lancaster this year is to see the play “JESUS”

on June 23rd, 2018. For those who paid and are joining

us on this trip we will meet in front of the church at

8:00am on the dot. Please, arrive early.

COMMUNITY WEDDINGS- SAT., JUNE 23rd AT 3:00PM

On Saturday, June 23rd at 3:00pm, four couples from our

parish will be joined together in the Sacrament of Marriage.

The Mass will be celebrated in Spanish. We encourage any

couples considering the sacrament of Marriage to join us! We

ask everyone to keep these couples and their families in your

prayers as they prepare to celebrate this Sacrament.

REGIONAL MASS OF INCLUSION

FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND THE DEAF

On Sunday, June 24th a Regional Mass of Inclusion for

persons with disabilities and the Deaf will be celebrated at

12:00pm at St. Ephrem’s (929 Bay Ridge Parway) in

Brooklyn. Arrangements will be in place for those with

physical, mental or emotional needs. Families, companions and

friends are most welcome. For more information please call

D15 DIVERSITY PLAN

The D15 Diversity Plan Working Group and School

Community will be presenting their diversity plan, (a set of

recommendations to create diverse, meaningfully integrated

middles schools) at Sunset Park High School (153 35th St.

A NIGHT OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP The group Missionaries of St. Jude Thaddeus from St.

Michaels will have a night of praise and worship on Thursday,

June 28th from 6:30pm-9:00pm in the church. There will be

exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. This event will be in

Spanish.

MASS AND COLLECTION

IN SOLIDARITY WITH GUATEMALA Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has requested that

a special Mass be celebrated for the

victims and survivors of the

volcanic eruption in Guatemala.

Bishop Octavio Cisneros will celebrate this Mass on

Wednesday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Saint Finbar Church (138 Bay 20th Street Brooklyn, NY 11214)

Here at St. Michael’s we will offer our support by taking

a collection for the victims and survivors

on the weekend on June 23rd & 24th. If you would like to give to

the previously scheduled Peter’s Pence collection, please use the

designated envelopes, all other donations for the second

collection that weekend will be donated to support Guatemala.
