We would like to offer some important travel and parking tips as you plan to attend the SFA commencement ceremonies. Traffic on the east side of campus will be extremely congested on commencement day. Please heed the directional signs that will be posted to aid traffic flow to William R. Johnson Coliseum. Parking for graduation will require patience and a little planning prior to arrival. Parking The University offers complimentary parking for graduates and guests on commencement day. All University parking areas are open and available with the following parking restrictions as noted below. Graduates and guests should plan approximately 20 minutes into their travel schedules to allow for parking their cars and walking to the William R. Johnson Coliseum. Disabled Parking: SFA has dedicated a section of parking lot 47, at the corner of North University Drive and East College Street, for disabled parking on a first come, first served basis. A state-issued accessible parking sticker or hangtag is necessary to park in these lots. Drivers can drop off a guest who has difficulty walking at the front of the Coliseum in the designated drop-off area. Golf cart service will also be available to facilitate transportation for attendees who may require special assistance in reaching the Coliseum from parking lot 47. Once these parking spaces have been filled, vehicles will only be permitted to drop off guests, and will be directed to park elsewhere on campus. Before leaving the Coliseum, please be sure that you have all personal belongings. Any items left behind will be taken to the University Police.
