Current issues (1)
ISO/TC 67 response after Macondo en Montara incidents (2010):• Identification of short and long term actions (ISO/TC67 document N
1119) – December 2010.• 30 ISO standards under revision (10 high priority)
(Well integrity; Well control including equipment; Cementing; Competence of personnel)
• In close cooperation with others - API, IRF en OGP• Lessons need to be used in the entire world• International standards are an essential tool in this
9
Current issues (2)• Cooperation with API
– “Co-branding” of API and ISO standards is suspended– This affects the post Montara/Macondo work
• Uncertainties about the implications of European and US sanctions regulations on standardisation activities:– Complex matter – different opinions on how the ISO work should be treated– Participation by US and European persons/companies stopped– A temporary solution has been found by executing the technical work for
ISO standards under the umbrella of OGP (see separate presentation)
• This has potentially big negative consequences– 2 overlapping families of standards (ISO and API)
