Remember In Your Prayers Our men and women in the military: Many of our parishioners have family members serving in dangerous assignments around the world. Please keep them in your prayers. Our Sick: Marcella Ghost, Duncan Lewis, Robert Wyatt, John Tobar, Margaret McGrory, Gail Kotlarek, John Gilbert, Stephanie Burris, Noden Masisak, Jean Hennessey, Linda DeLuccia, Jermaine Williams, Amanda Tees, Helen Amato, Deacon Manuel Baltran, Richard Fieramosca, Dolores Doran, Florence Colantuono, Barbara Golden, Dolores DeBeaumont, Erin Wright, Ruth Lang, Jimmy Simon, Nicholas Simon, Andres Torres, Eleanor Winstanley, Joseph Hailstone, David Lovett, Mark Buss and all their relatives and friends. Our Deceased: Harry Femea and all the deceased members of our parish and their relatives and friends. The second collection this weekend, October 15-16, 2016, is for World Mission Sunday. In announcing his decisions to declare a Holy Year of Mercy. Pope Francis said, “Dear brothers and sisters, I have often thought about how the Church might make clear its mission of being a witness to mercy.” Supporting the young churches throughout the world with your prayers and generous gifts is indeed a merciful witness of this mission. The collection today will help missionaries offer the poor of these areas practical help as they share the mercy of God. It will ensure the development of local dioceses, and support the work of priests, religious and lay leaders who serve those on the margins and in most need. Extend your merciful witness to the whole world.

A Message from the St Vincent de Paul Society

In the Gospel today Jesus tells his disciples to pray always without becoming weary, indeed our prayer must always be an expression of our love for God, our family, our world, and especially for the suffering poor.

As you place your gift in the Society of St Vincent de Paul Poor Box, please say a special prayer for the poor

who have no one to pray for them.

29th Sunday in Ordinary Times Feast of St Luke, Evangelist

This week we will remember St Luke the Evangelist who wrote one of the Gospels as well as The Acts of the Apostles. Christ calls us all to be “evangelists” like St Luke...to tell the “Good News” to all the world. Pick up something from our Resource Display today and commit to spending a little time each day getting to know the faith on a deeper level so you are better able to share with others. And then pass it on to friends and family! Thank you for your generous donations that help to support the Mission of Stewardship: A Mission of Faith and Lighthouse Catholic Media to bring these resources to more parishes. Save The Date….
