Are you registered in the parish? Please do not take for granted that you are registered in the parish just because you attend mass here. If we have no record of your parish membership it could be quite embarrassing to us, or to you or your family, when some- one wishes to make wedding plans, have a baby baptized, or if you have been asked to act as a sponsor for baptism or confirmation. Please fill out a census form, which is located at the entrances of the Multi Celebrational Building (MCB), and mail it to the parish office. LIVING AS THE BODY OF CHRIST Some of Saint Paul's best known and most beloved imagery is contained in the passages from First Corinthians that we have heard last week and this week: the many gifts granted by the one same Spirit and the many members making up the one Body of Christ. Few passages from sacred scripture more accurately sum up how Christian vocations work together. Unlike some of Paul's other writings, which are a product of the social and religious conventions of his time, these enable us to look at our own lives and the lives of those around us to discern what gifts, what vocations the Holy Spirit has given for the good of all. We can likewise know the joys and sorrows of the other members of the Body and share in them for the strengthening of the whole Body of Christ. Ezra read from the book of the law of God to the assembled people. They understood and accepted the law (Nehemiah 8:2-4a, 5-6, 8-10). Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life -- Psalm 19. As the body with its many parts is still one body, so it is with Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-30 [12-14, 27]). While attending worship in the Nazarean synagogue, Jesus reads from the prophet Isaiah and declares himself to be the fulfillment of the prophecy (Luke 1:1-4; 4:14-21).

“Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without even a bowl of soup to eat.”
The movement known as the “Souper Bowl of Caring” started with this simple prayer in a youth ministry in South Carolina over twenty-six years ago. It inspired young people to do something more than celebrate a football game, and they created the legacy known as the “Souper Bowl of Caring” that would help others every year. Now this youth-led movement has become a national event that includes over 18,000 youth groups and has raised more than 100 million for people in need since its inception. On Super Bowl weekend, February 6th & 7th, youth ministry will be collecting donations after all masses for our annual “Souper Bowl of Caring” service project; all monies collected will be donat-ed to local charities to provide food to the less fortunate in our community. All middle and high school youth of the parish are invited to help ion these two service projects. Come and make new friends, and start working on the community service hours you may need for church and school! Please call Suzanne at (561) 966-8878 for more information.
