Today’s Readings First Reading — From Bethlehem-Ephrathah shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel (Micah 5:1-4a). Psalm — Lord, make us turn to you; let us see your face and we shall be saved (Psalm 80). Second Reading — We have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Christ once for all (Hebrews 10:5-10). Gospel — Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken by the Lord would be fulfilled (Luke 1:39-45).

Upcoming Events and Important Information

Hospitality Sunday Hospitality Sunday is January 20 after the 7:15 & 9:00 a.m. Masses. Come for free donuts and coffee in the parish hall. This is an opportunity to meet fellow parishioners. Please take the time to introduce yourself and your family to a parishioner or family that you do not know. The goal of Hospitality Sunday is to enjoy coffee and donuts with friends and also become familiar with other parishioners. We appreciate the Hospitality Committee who set up the event and the Men’s Club who pay for the donuts.

Family Rosary Program Sunday, December 30th, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Edward Church Join your fellow parishioners at a Rosary prayer service hosted by the Knights of Columbus. For information call, Mike V. at 510-912-0442.

Men’s Club Our next meeting will be Wednesday January 3, 2019 at the Doolan Center at St. Edward School at 7:30 PM. The Doolan Center is located at the very end of the school near Civic Center Terrace. All Men of the Parish are welcome.

Drivers For Survivors is a non-profit organization that pro-vides free transportation service and supportive compan-ionship for ambulatory cancer patients who live in the Central and South Alameda County areas (Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Ashland, and Cherryland). Queremos invitar a las familias que gusten llevar la imagen de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe a su casa. La idea es que la puedan tener por una semana, en donde po-drán pedir por sus necesidades y las vocaciones religiosas y sobre todo rezar el Rosario en familia. Acuérdense que “La Familia que reza unida, permanece unida”. La imagen la pue-den devolver el Sábado siguiente antes de la Misa, así la próxi-ma familia puede llevarla a su casa. Grupos Parroquiales Gracias a estas personas y feligreses por sus donaciones tan generosas, una vez más tuvimos una celebración muy bonita para nuestra Virgen de Guadalupe. Les pedimos que toda la comunidad los apoyen con sus negocios para que cada año nos puedan continuar donando lo necesario para la fiesta de nuestra Virgencita. Gracias también al Diacono John por todo su apoyo en esta Fiesta tan especial, el Padre Ben, ministros, monaguillos y a toda la comunidad que nos acompañaron y de una forma u otra ayudaron en esta fiesta. Gracias a nuestro coro y músicos por ayudarnos con la celebración del Triduo y dos Misas. A los que decoraron el Altar de la Virgen y a todos los que nos ayudaron con la convivencia en el salón y con el trafico. Gracias de nuevo a todos nuestros feligreses, grupos parroquiales, y negocios por toda su ayuda. Que Dios los bendiga a ustedes y a todas sus familias.
