Bishop Riceneeds your help! Our priests are

crucial to our faith…without them, there is

no shepherd in the parish, and no Eucharist!

That is why the bishop isasking you to

commit to raising money to send young men

to seminary, as well as to help our beloved

priests in their retirement! He is also

committed to more youth programs to better

form the younger generation. These three

components will require $15 million, and

are well worth the investment. Please

respond to Bishop Rice’s call and pledge to

donate over the next five years. Our parish

goal is $69,000. If you have any questions,

Ministry to theSick

After 25 years,Rita Redmanhas passed the

Sunshine Lady baton this week to Maria

Barrera. Maria and her team will take over

visiting those in the hospital. If you know

anyone who is in the hospital,please let Fr.

Daniel, Maria, or Luis know and the

ministry team will visit them. Also, please

let us know if someone is sick; we will put

their names in the bulletin so everyone can

pray for them.

Fourth Sunday of Advent:

Preparing our Hearts for Christ

For all of us, the story behind these days can

draw us in, and invite us to bring our lives to

the mystery of how Jesus came into this

world and why. Our best preparation for the

Holy Night ahead and the Joyful Morning to

follow is for us to reflect upon how he

came. He came in the midst of scandal and

conflict. He came in poverty. He was

rejected before he was born. He was born in

a feed trough. He was hunted down. And

he grew up in obscurity.

He did not shun our world and its poverty

and conflict. He embraced it. And he

desires to embrace us today, in this day.

Right where we are. Right where we are

feeling most distant. Right were we are

feeling least “religious” or “ready.” If we

let him come into our hearts to be our Savior

these challenging days, we will find

ourselves entering the sacred night and

morning of Christmas “joyful and

triumphant” as never before.

Come, Lord Jesus. Come and visit your

people.

We await your coming. Come, O Lord.

Preparando nuestros corazones para

Cristo

Para todos nosotros, la historia de estos días

puede atraernos y nos invitan a llevar

nuestras vidas al misterio de ¿cómo Jesús

vino a este mundo y por qué? Para una

mejor preparación para la Noche Buena y

la navidad es seguir reflexionando cómo

llegó. Llegó en medio de escándalos y

conflictos. Llegó en la pobreza. Fue

rechazado antes de que él naciera. Nació en

un pesebre, el fue perseguido y él creció en

la oscuridad.

Él no evitó nuestro mundo, la pobreza y

conflicto. Él la abrazo, él desea abrazarnos

hoy, en este día. Justo donde estamos. Justo

donde nos sentimos más distantes. Si lo

dejamos entrar en nuestros corazones para

que El sea nuestro Salvador en estos días

desafiantes, nos encontraremos entrando en

la noche buena y en la navidad "alegres y

triunfantes" como nunca antes .

¡Ven, Señor Jesús. Venga a visitar a tu

pueblo.

Esperamos tu llegada. Ven, Señor!
