  • 5. CONNECTEDTV what is connected tv (ctv) / video? Connected TV Another term for Smart TV. This refers to a TV that can connect to the Internet. Its most commonly used to stream extra video content, but also for audio, news, and other interactive content such as web-browsing, social networking and video-on- demand. A few TVs even support Skype video calling. Television manufacturers currently sell a wide variety of connected TVs, and users of existing non-connected TVs can add many of the connected features to their current TVs via connected TV-capable Blu-Ray players and Set-top boxes. Another option is to access free and premium connected TV content over the Web on desktop PCs, tablets, smartphones and similar devices. Connected TVs are poised to make major headway among consumers in the next few years. While not entirely new, these Smart TVs are becoming increasingly popular. Approximately 25% of all TVs shipped in 2011 were smart, and that number continues to grow at nearly 60% year over year.
  • 6. types of connected tv The viewers, between 18 to 54 years of age, use Internet video or content on a TV screen connected to the Internet via game consoles and Blu-ray players, as well as streaming devices directly connected to the Internet such as Roku (Netflix, Hulu etc.), Apple TV, Vizeo (Google TV), Boxee, or Smart TVs. • 12. what is the difference between dynamic and rich media? DCO is a technology that delivers the right message to the right person at the right time (when the ad is served). Different creative elements can be mixed and matched to efficiently create many variations of an ad and can be targeted to different audience segments to match the right ad to a relevant user. Rich Media can be dynamic, but certainly doesn't have to be. When we think of rich media (polites, floating, expandables, pre-expandables, rising stars, etc.), we usually just think of additional interactive elements as compared to standard flash. Most importantly, rich media allows for additional K weight.
  • 13. what is BIG DATA? Big Data is essentially a rebranding of 'normal' data. There is largely nothing new in the data available itself, but with the evolution of computer processing and storage subsystems it has become possible to not only store & interface with the entire data set, but increasingly take advantage of it in real-time. Boris Mouzykantskii, Founder, CEO & Chief Scientist, Iponweb Big data is usually characterized by three dimensions, sometimes known as the '3Vs': Volume of data that exceeds traditional processing methodologies Variety of data types and sources Velocity of data flowing in and out of the systems James Deaker, Vice President of Advertising and Data Solutions, Yahoo! The world has always had 'big' data. What makes 'big data' the catch phrase of 2012 is not simply about the size of the data. 'Big data' also refers to the size of available data for analysis, as well as the access methods and manipulation technologies to make sense of the data. • 31. When to Match with Voter Data It is possible to match voter files to the viewers you are reaching. While this may make sense in certain situations, such as special elections with expected low voter turnout, it is seldom a wise media buy. CPMs to match this data are often 10x higher than using straight behavioral targeting (heavy or frequent voters). You should consult with your media buyer to see whether or not the premium is worth it. You may opt to get 10x the frequency while still reaching heavy voters and reach other potential voters at the same time.
