YOU ARE INVITED!SQUARE RIGGER CLUB CHARITY CHARTER 2015

After many years of stalwart service, the old ship has been retired and 2015 sees the commissioning of thenew TS Royalist into service with the Sea Cadets. The new ship is following the tradition of the previousone, a brig but slightly longer and broader in the the beam. There are many technical and safetyinnovations in the new ship but one feature, which may perhaps be of interest to SRCC members is that shewill be more comfortable and has proper bunks!

The Square Rigger Club Charity has conducted many charters through the years and the first charter in thenew ship will take place in September 2015. These charters are always convivial, fun and dare we say, instructional and can be taken at any level of seriousness according to each individual's choice. Thevoyages offer hands on participation in every aspect of the ship's life, be it steering the ship, setting sail, standing watch or helping feed the hungry crew as well as providing an opportunity to experience the vesseland determine if you would like to train as a member of the Afterguard (subject to suitable qualifications) inorder to join the relief staff cadre to assist on TS Royalist cadet voyages. The charter's profit goes directlytowards TS Royalist, providing bursaries for Sea Cadets and essential extras for the Ship.

2015 will see the introduction of the new ship within the Sea Cadets and by September, the new TS Royalistwill have settled down into a regular pattern of voyages for the cadets and within the programme, theSquare Rigger Club Charity will charter the ship for six days with a passage from a South Coast Port(possibly Falmouth) and with a possible visit to France or Scilly Isles, depending on weather. Details TBA.

Milford Haven to BristolThose who wish to join this charter will need to travel to Milford Haven a South Coast Port by their ownarrangements to arrive at the ship no later than 14.00 on Saturday 12th September 2015. If there were to be a change with dates inconvenient to you,any deposits taken would be reimbursed. Final details will be advised not later than six weeks before thedate of embarkation.

General InformationOn occasion, when TS Royalist is in some interesting port or anchorage, some crew members may wish toeat ashore but there is always a meal available on board for those who may just want to have a drink ashoreafter eating on board or just stroll around the port.A full kit list will be sent out nearer the time of departure but wet weather gear and lifejackets are providedby TS Royalist. We are pleased to offer a Group Discount whereby if a member of the SRCC brings along a friend(s) thenthe member rate would apply to that friend(s).
